Q: How much weight can this table support?

I cannot answer that. I use mine in my family room. The guys put their drinks and appetizers on it when they are playing pool.

Q: Sorry another question- reviews say bar height but the description says 30in tall. Is that about how tall it is?

Yes, the table stands 29.5" tall. I'm using it with chairs with the seat being 18" high. This is not a high bar table as in needing stools. It's a bistro size table but nice and sturdy. It may come in different heights.
