As a network engineer, this was new to me, and very welcome.
I've installed Cat5/6, RG6, and fiber in everything from toothpick structures to businesses, to finished homes. As an IT professional with over 20 years experience I was surprised and happy to discover MoCA. We just purchased a home, a rather large home, and I didn't really want to start ripping holes and stringing cable because now I'm paying for it. But there was coax run to every room already. So when I found out about MoCA I thought it was worth a shot. we now have 4 adapters in the home, approximately $200 worth of adapters. By my estimates it would have cost me close to a grand (not counting labor) to properly run in wall cables, so this actually saved me money. Installation: Literally plug and play. No drivers, no config. Extremely easy. Takes longer to get out of packaging. Prerequisites: MoCA compatible router, or a MoCA adapter at your router. MoCA compatible coax splitter/s. Speeds: Our internal speeds surpass our ISP service. Inside (pc to pc) we are seeing solid maxed out gigabit. External (rather, internal to external) we are getting within 80% of our subscribed service of 1g up/down. We have 7 hard wired computers, all of us are heavy inet users and we are cord cutters. CableTV: While we do not have cable service, each MoCA adapter has a TV out (passthrough) to connect to your "smart" tv. So one coax in provides one coax out and one cat5 out. Bottom line, these are a life saver to those who don't want to, or cannot have cat5 run everywhere but coax is already in place. If you are at a stage of construction where cat5 is still able to be properly installed, I highly recommend doing that instead. These are more for already completed homes with coax present. Love them, will be getting more as needed for my server rack.

Perfect, Fast and Easy
Purchased in a three pack with one being placed at my Router/Coax Cable area in my basement, and two at rooms around the home with mesh sattelites and Coax outlets. Like so many homes in America I have TV cable in every room and CAT5 no where.....I wanted a wired backbone for my mesh WiFi. In the basement utility room I ran one MoCA adapter from my router with CAT5 and ran a 2 way Coax splitter to that MoCA adapter. I then went to the two other rooms and added the two other MoCA adapters. Plugged it all in and it just worked. No tel-netting in, no web interface, DHCP just took off and ran with it.... smooth connections that were plug and play. I ran the speed test in the photo connected directly to the MoCA adapter with a laptop/CAT5 in one of the rooms. The speeds are right on par with what I see all the time with my Verizon Home Wireless Internet. If you need to be wired, this is a great way to go.
