Aircraft Sheet Metal (Drake's Aircraft Mechanic Series)
C**R
Another great Drake facsimile
I've read several of the Drake facsimiles. Each has a few nuggets. For context - these books were written in the 1940s for then CAA repairman certification (today's A&P). This book has a good discussion on aluminum, magnesium and iron alloys. Heat treatments and bend allowances are well covered. Perhaps the most unique chapters are related to the lost "art" of manually shrinking, stretching and forming sheet aluminum. The text includes a series of exercised that could be done in a class. These are the skills needed to hand form sheet metal.
