These come off when you are putting on and taking off the cap. They seem ok once the cap is on. I really don’t like the clips. They have a fiddly lock button but the main problem is the jaws don’t open very far. So it is a struggle to get them onto the edge of the cap. Even a cap that isn’t super thick. The sliding clip to cinch down the string is good. I just wish they would have used a better quality clip that was more functional.

The clips do not open unless you pry them apart and even then you can’t get them wide enough to clip onto a hat.

I bought this product to hold my hat on when out on the boat. In the past I have used metal clips that held my hat on just fine but they rusted. I was interested in these because they were all plastic, unfortunately they did not hold my hat when the wind blew and I lost another hat in the water. I would not recommend this product for that use

I use these to clip on to my mask to keep it around my neck when I remove it in the car. I will never loose my mask again!

Doesn’t stay on your hats. We were using them for sailing in San Francisco Bay and it’s 25knots. So maybe these are good a little wind. I’m buying the original alligator clips

The retainer does not hold very good and the cords slip.

I bought these to hold my baseball cap on when riding my electric bike. It goes 40 mph and these have held my hat on no problem. I haven’t had to go chasing after hat since I have had these. They are great

Just tried these today with the top down on the car. Worked well in a stiff crosswind when my hat took off.
