Ok, you bought this Lenovo computer. For some reason they don't see fit to supply disk power cables with it. Just why that is .... who knows. Next up, their wiring harness does not have the "norma" plugs on it. Look around a bit more and there's a familiar looking socket on the motherboard. Faked out again, it's a smaller version of what you plug most cables into .... grrrrr ..... Off to the Lenovo site, good luck finding a cable there.Fortunately we have Amazon and folks who sell stuff here. This is the cable you need to keep from taking an axe to that shiny new computer. It plugs into the socket and powers up the disk. Off to the races ....Or notTurns out if your Lenovo is one of their servers, they have keyed the motherboard software to recognize non-Lenovo supplied disks. Your "off brand" enterprise hard drive will plug in and the motherboard will power up for about ... 2 seconds. It then will shut down and stay down until you remove the offending disk. Plug in a Lenovo official disk (with this cable or one of theirs) and the system does indeed boot.Again, no idea why they feel the need to do this sort of stuff.

Easy to use and self-explainitory instalation. Careful with the adapter around metal edges as it is easy to slice the outer coating of the wire. Otherwise an excellent product.

Just a heads up to anyone who purchases the new Lenovo ThinkSystem ST50 Servers. They do not include any way to power hard drives in their servers. Power distribution is built in to the motherboard. There is room for two of these cables on the motherboard.The official cable kit from Lenovo is unavailable almost everywhere. So if you really need one, this is the one to get. Lead time was 25+ days for the official kit. Lenovo ST50 HH Odd / Tape Cable Kit (4Z57A13568). Huge thanks to the CoReap/CoMeap!

Just what I wanted. It was hard to find the correct cables for the Lenovo ThinkCentre M710t. The config I bought had no SATA device and no cables. I had spare data cables in my scrap box but I've never before had to connect power directly from the motherboard to a SATA device since there are usually spare connectors coming from the power supply. These are the right ones. They are 5mm in size whereas the "normal" ATX power cables are 7mm.

Purchased these to add a storage drive to my ThinkCentre M93p and they are incorrect. Unfortunately time is an issue so I was able to harvest one of the sata connectors and add it to the OEM power cable so it could power 2 drives.

Had to add some additional drives to my Costco Lenovo and it required this cable. Working great, stuffed two mechanical drives 4TB & 2TB into a little small form factor tower with some finangaling and tab bending..lol
