Soccer Training: A Step-by-Step Guide on 14 Topics for Intelligent Soccer Players, Coaches, and Parents (Understand Soccer)

This book was great! I played club soccer growing up, but played D1 Field Hockey in college. I recently joined 3 adult soccer leagues so getting back into those soccer skills took a few games! This book was really easy to follow and remind me of those soccer skills I was forgetting like foot skills and defending! It also led me to purchase the Soccer Drills, and Dribble & Foot Skills. It's also nice having the YouTube videos to go along with the chapters and topics. My teammates have commented on how much I've been improving each game and these books really helped!

Recently started coaching and this book made explaining things super easy and covered quite a bit. While this is a good book for coaches I think for players it is even better. Teaches some basics and builds on them while also providing a wealth of insight and knowledge every player can benefit from.

This book provides a great overview of important topics that are crucial in the development of all that play the beautiful game. I definitely recommend checking out the other books offered in the Understand Soccer series, too. Top bins, for sure!

Dylan Joseph's Soccer Training book was an excellent read! It is a relatively quick read and it is very impressive to see the amount of knowledge and wisdom implemented for all aspects of the game. This is definitely an ACTION book. It is one thing to sit and read about soccer and learning how to do soccer moves, or learning how to be more coachable, but another thing to actually implement what you learn. Dylan Joseph makes it very easy for the reader to follow along and his wording is basically step-by-step instructions of how to do many of the soccer basics as well as a few of the complicated moves. He also offers some pretty cool and practical advice for parents and coaches of how to improve their child or team. Looking forward to seeing what this author has in store for the future.I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book is an easy and insightful read. I recommend all coaches and players to read this book to focus your coaching and playing skills. These are some of the topics covered by this book. Shooting a driven shot, finishing, being coachable foot skills, dribbling, defending, pass and receiving the ball, etc.. I actually bought three paperback copies of this book to provide it to my team coaches and a digital copy to have all of Dylan Joseph soccer books in one digital device to read and refer to.

This book is a great book for a soccer player looking to hone his skills and develop a better understanding of how as an individual he can better impact the game and improve himself. I loved the section on skills because the author is able to paint a good picture on how to approach skill moves.The book was very concise and the author was good at driving home major points in each chapter. This is a great book for coaches who are just starting out and also has so good refreshers for experienced coaches.

For someone starting on the path of coaching soccer, it is so important to offer visual aids alongside the theory. Unfortunately, this book offers none.

Some useful insights but I find it very surprising that so many people could rate this as a 5 star book. It is quite limited in the depth of examination of the topic. I would not normally write a critical review but I based my purchase on the star ratings. I regret purchasing the book based on the Amazon rating.
