Firstly, this item is incredibly difficult to get working correctly. You have to connect it in just the right sequence, which seems to vary with the state of the moon.Secondly, it will always start up stating that a firmware update is required but there is seemingly no way of doing this but apparently it's not required anyway. This is not helped by the utterly inadequate instructions that are not in intelligible English.Thirdly, after only 3 uses, the phone connector is now intermittent and will only charge the phone if held in just the right way, so it's probably about to become unusable.Fourthly, and most importantly though, this is just supposed to be a cable to connect my phone to the projector. Why, then, does it require me to have a live internet connection and to place my phone in Mobile Hotspot mode? This is massively suspicious and a major threat to the security of your phone and all the data on it. I have managed to circumvent this up to now but I STRONGLY recommend that you do not buy this cable.To compound all of the above, despite the order being fulfilled by Amazon, there is now no way to obtain a replacement/refund.

Stuck on update page, will not update firmware so pretty much useless, even though seller states there is no updates or firmware to do in the Questions. Returning for refund.

excellent product. very useful when you are travelling and you don't have to limit your entertainment on to a small screen.. specially when you are in a B&B.worth the price. quality product.

Unfortunately we couldn’t get this to work- when the devices were connected to any TVs It was either frozen on the startup screen with a message to update but when chosen nothing happens or we get the sorry! Playback is not allowed on the external display”

Having struggled to set up the cable, I was informed my iPad mini 4 was not compatible! Call was therefore returned and cost refunded.

After going through several other HDMI Adapters that did not allow me to use my iPhone 6s to watch movies on my TV with an app called Netflix this adapter worked flawlessly. I only wish there was a way to view the movies with Closed Captions as sometimes the dialogue was a bit hard to understand. That is not, however the fault of the adapter. I highly recommend it!!!

Initially worked, then stopped working second time around. I kept it in my work bag in between uses. Unfortunately I don’t need it to use it very often so the return window had passed by the time the failure was identified. The one time it did work the picture was pretty good and it was easy to use. Ideal for presentations... or should I say a singular expensive presentation.

A great piece of inexpensive equipment for watching anything on your phone or iPad on the television. Easy to set up and watch. I would recommend this product.
