This book has some fascinating letters, blocks inside.
This book has some fascinating letters, blocks inside .The only problem which I think may put buyers off is that all of the patterns need to be printed off after being downloaded

Charming Book...
Loved this book. A collection of letters that were printed in an american magazine and supposedly from farmer's wives. Written in the depression of the 1930's, the letters were designed to cheer and inspire the readership. Each letter comes with a pattern for a quilt block and they are lovely traditional designs. Some nice feedsack type fabrics too.

Fab book with lots of online support.
Love this book. Cant wait to use it & get on board with the face book group for the sew along. The letters are very poignant & make great reading for a snapshot of history of America & how it was for those women.CD's are in the book ready to use for your templates. If these was another book brought out in this format & had great designs I would buy it. Most of patterns you can use paper piecing techniques & these is online support with tutorials via Facebook group for each piece.

Inspirational book
great book, inspiring letters and clear diagrams. You do need to understand the basics of quilt making to get full use from the book though as there are no sewing instructions included.

Beautiful book
Beautiful book, all the patterns are lovely and the letters are very interesting, I have wanted to make a hand sewn quilt for years, I intend doing all the 99 patterns in the book, highly recommend.

I'm glad I have it and will use it again
Fascinating to read. I've tried only one of the blocks but it turned out to be a disaster.... too far out of my skill range, but I think some of the others look much easier. I'm glad I have it and will use it again. The templates and the CD are very good.

Love the mix of social history and quilting
Love the mix of social history and quilting. Each square is named and goes with a letter. For sewing the squares are in alphabetical order, not in order of the letters. I like to read every letter as I make the square, so have to find it in the index. Otherwise logical to use with CD.
