I recently picked up the Pro-Shot Products R25/6.5KIT for my .25 caliber rifle, and I’m genuinely impressed—this kit is top-notch! As someone who takes rifle maintenance seriously, I’ve tried my share of cleaning setups, but this one stands out for its quality, completeness, and ease of use. It’s become my go-to for keeping my 6.5mm in pristine shape, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Five stars all the way!The kit comes with everything I need in a sturdy, organized box: a 32.5-inch stainless micro-polished cleaning rod, a swivel handle, a brass jag, a cotton mop, a patch holder, and even a muzzle guard to protect the barrel crown. The rod is a dream—smooth, strong, and long enough to handle my barrel with ease, no flexing or wobbling. The brass cleaning jag and mop are perfectly sized for .25 cal/6.5mm, making it effortless to push patches through and scrub out fouling. I also love the extras like the Next Generation 1 Step Cleaner & Lubricant, Pro-Gold Grease, and the silky silicone-treated gun cloth—they leave my rifle spotless and well-protected.The 100% cotton flannel patches are a standout—soft yet durable, they pick up grime like a champ. First things first: this kit will work on pistols as well as rifles. I bought it specifically for cleaning my Ruger Mark IV and it works great. For those wondering, the kit is also marked as being used for .22-.223 Cal/5.56mm.After having this kit in my possession for a couple months with multiple uses on various calibers, I figured it was time to leave a review. This is an extremely well made kit. The plastic carry case is robust and sturdy. It latches shut tightly, and you won't be worrying about it popping open regardless of how you store it. There is storage for every item you need as well as plenty of additional room to store your other calibers cleaning attachments as well. I keep brass brushes for 9mm, .45 and .410 caliber in here along with the factory attachments. There is absolutely zero flex when pushing these through a barrel, regardless of how tight your patches or brass brush are. Never worry about bending your rods again with this kit. Each rod has 0.375" of threading on the end, ensuring a deep and secure attachment to the following rod, and there is zero flexing of the rods at the joint when connected.It also comes with nice brass attachments as opposed to the cheaper flimsy plastic ones other brands come with. No more stripping plastic threads or bending and snapping the patch holder attachment.The handle is solid aluminum and feels great in the hand. It threads smoothly and stays threaded while in use. It floats freely and you can easily see and feel the rod section spinning while the handle is stationary as you push the rod through the barrel. The handle itself weighs 62.25 grams and has a solid feel to it.The silicone cloth appears to be a soft microfiber. It is actually rather large at 15" x 7". It does not feel as though its got a chemical in it, and the appearance of the firearm does not seem to change after being wiped. It does leave your firearm looking nice and clean after use, which really is it's intended purpose.The only "problem" I had with this kit was with the jag attachment. With even one patch it was simply too tight for me to get through my Ruger Mark IV .22 caliber barrel. I also wish that the box of patches it came with was actually full of patches. Be sure to buy additional patches for .22 cal if you intend on using this frequently. These are both minor gripes anyways and in no way detract from the value of the kit.I originally bought this for my .22, but now I use it for all my firearms. It's a fantastic cleaning kit that I feel very confident using on anything. After my experience with this kit I would not hesitate to buy another product from Pro-Shot. Buy this kit with confidence and know that you'll never need to buy one again!
