Solid build and reasonably easy to assemble, works very well
The product comes in 3 separate partsThe bottom 3 leg part on castorsThe middle with the large turning wheelThe top that the boards sit on.The wire rope and winch part of the middle piece was already pre assembled in the box.Once assembled, the whole thing seemed a bit loose and wobbly which concerned me at first, this is actually an advantage as once the board is a centimetre or so from the final fixing point it makes it easy to adjust the positioning and slot the board in then turn the wheel a little to push the board snugly in place before the final fixing with screws or nails. One point to note is keep the sheet centre balanced on the lifter using the extendible side rails, easy using full sheets in the middle of a room but remember to adjust rails for cut boardsThe easy to use release lever drops the platform sharply so have a good hold of the wheel at the same time and lower to desired height. If you don’t hold the wheel it will just drop all the way with a thump (instructions explain all this in the safe usage section)The whole thing was easily disassembled again and taken up stairs to start bedroom ceilings.Once disassembled the 3 parts will fit in my car a honda civic with the back seats laid flat. No one part is to heavy for an average man to lift. You can also use this to take a board back down safely without damaging it, if after screwing it in place you notice a flawI have done this with ease, wooden baton was loose so screwing in the board caused a bow in the board, simply put the lifter under the board, removed screws, pushed lifer and board to one side, fixed in a new baton, re positioned board and re screwed, easy, easy fix and all done single handed.Cant say how long the lifter winch wire rope will last but I believe its a replaceable part. That said I cant see it wearing out that quickly lifting 20K boards if looked after properly. The parts that are a little weak looking and possibly prone to fatigue / failure over time are the brakes on the castors, but I haven’t used the breaks other than to test them during initial assembly, I cant see a real need unless the floor is running of a lotor your working on a slope (probably a bad idea to do that with this equipment)All in all I am very please with this, it makes fitting ceiling boards a simple one man job, even easier than two men if your used to doing this with another person and your holding the board with your head while trying to unjam the collated screwdriver and your partner is at the other end with aching arms.SummaryIts well made,Easily assembled,Gets the boards in place with easeLift mechanism is easily raised and loweredEasily manoeuvred around the room on castorsEasily disassembledEasily picked up and moved to different rooms in its 3 disassembled partsEasily transported in a hatch back car in its 3 disassembled partsReplaces the need of a second or third person to help sheet a ceilingDoes not need Tea, pee or smoke breaksMoney well spent in my opinion

Brilliant product!
Excellent product. Easy to assemble. The individual items are robust and sturdy. As expected the components are steel and do weigh a bit, but I guess these need to be to provide the strength, a 8x4 plasterboard weighs in about 24kg. Makes plaster boarding ceilings a breeze, no more T pieces and brooms!I decided to purchase from vidaXL, slightly more expensive than other sellers, but after reading feedback vidaXL seemed to be the best bet. I am very pleased I did as the original delivery was sent from the Netherlands in 2 large cardboard boxes.Unfortunately the boxes were not up to the job and were pierced by the weighty components, some items being lost in transit and some damaged on arrival. VidaXL's customer service was excellent, after a few emails and photo's exchanged within a day replacement items were shipped and arrived within 4 days. These were received without any problems.1st class customer service, thank you.Hopefully vidaXL will look at how they package this product for shipment, there were some cardboard 'bricks' in the box which I guess were to try and reinforce the box. I think these could have worked it they had not been loose, rather glued or tapped in.Happy plaster boarding!

Plasterboard lift - worth its weight!
I'd read a few reviews on other board lifters - I have a ceiling I'd like to board myself, and as I'm 5'4" and under 9 stone thought I'd need some help getting the 8' x 4' plasterboards up to the ceiling! I'd imagined that the boards weighed lighter than the 24kgs they actually were, and quickly realised a board lifter was required after making up 2 T-pieces and realising I'd never be able to get a full board up a ladder on my head to start with!!I didn't want to hire one as I had no idea how long the job would take, and didn't want to be pressurised by an impending hire termination date and time.Hiring a board lifter for a week cost about the same as purchasing this lifter, so it was a no-brainer, and I took the plunge to order it.Despite some reviews which said the packaging wasn't good and parts had become lost - the vidaXL one arrived on the earliest day for delivery in two strong cardboard boxes, completely intact and with all parts present. It should be noted that both boxes are very heavy and I needed to use a trolley to take them to the place of work.Once opened, the instructions are clear to follow, and I had the 3 main parts assembled in about 20 minutes......and was screwing my first board on the ceiling after half an hour of opening the boxes!Initially - I was worried that I wouldn't be able to lift the heavy boards high enough to reach the two support hooks, but this was easy enough if I just put the board edge over one hook at a time and had the wheel brakes all on to stop the lifter moving.Raising the first full board to the ceiling was a bit nerve wracking but - with some adjustments for the optimum board positioning - I started to trust the lifter and I became confident using it.Once I started boarding the rest of the ceiling I started enjoying using the lifter and am looking forward to finishing the job (walls too) in a day or two, depending on cutting out light switches etc.The lifter will go back into the 2 boxes and stored or sold - I haven't decided yet as I'm reluctant to let it go now!!If you are swithering about whether to use this or T-pieces, and if you are a small person (and female!) like me without reliable helpers then this is the kit for you!

Excellent Plasterboard Lifting Equipment
Very well made plasterboard lifter. We are building new film studios and this has been an invaluable tool to get 2.4m x 1.2m (12mm) plasterboards lifted safely up to heights of 3.5m. not too dificult to assemble although somewhat heavy .... but this is neccessary when you understand what it needs to do. Once assembled it's easy enough to move about on its braked wheels. Highly recommended.
