I bought this as a beater. The stock strap is weak but Barton fixed that. The actual peice is a decent weight, lug to lug size, lume is bright and long lasting, the hands line up perfectly. Iv had it almost a year and it's taken a beating. It's now a regular in my rotation. I'm very impressed for the price and functions it contains. If this quality is easily had for dirt cheap, why spend $$$$ on a name brand.

This review is not intended to be a normal persons review of the watch, I just wanted to report some info that other ]s may find interesting. This watch is pretty good. A tad small for my wrist, band is a tad short, Lume is average or slightly below. But it’s decently built and would make a very rugged watch for the “field” But, the fact it has a screw down crown and lockable stopwatch buttons meant it was a great candidate watch to experiment with “hydro Mod”, which is why I bought it. By completely filling the inside of a quartz (don’t do this with a mechanical watch) with a low viscosity silicon oil, you can change the way the light refracts down in and out of the watch. I’ll show some pictures of how I did it, and the results. You run the risk of instantly and permanently trashing the watch, but it’s something I wanted to try. The second hand on this watch is very small dial, so it doesn’t offer much resistance as it turns in the fluid, the chronograph second, in the other hand, barely still functions. So I have it centered on 12, and wouldn’t use it anyway. When I took the watch apart to fill it, it was a very well constructed Japanese movement. The hands and dial are very sharp and readable. In the pics you can see what the oil does, it makes the watch super readable especially from a severe side angle, leading to a cool watch effect. Most wouldn’t notice. It also makes the watch basically waterproof at any reasonable depth, if you care about that.

Good deal on a robust watch.

This watch is a homage to the IWC version that cost $7,500 dollars. It’s literally every bit as nice. I don’t care where this watch was made, I was looking for this style of watch as a daily beater, I was shocked when I opened the box and saw this thing
