Good construction - Works straight out of 'box'
I have a gaming laptop that is kinda showing it's age [MSI Crosshair 15 Rainbow Six - i9 12900H, Geforce RTX 3070, 64GB Ram, 2x Sabrent Rocket 4 M.2 SSD running Win 11]. I was using KLIM Mistrel which I, regretably, damaged - it was 5 or so years old and a great little workhorse. I wanted a cooler that would be a good replacement for the old one. Enter the KLIM Turbofrost. I bought KLIM Turbofrost partly because I had seen some fair revues of it and partly because KLIM is a brand I trust - this is myfith Klim cooler [various laptops] and friends who got KLIM coolers on my advice are delighted with there coolers. The sales materials for this cooler on Amazon and elsewhere online are, as far as I can tell, acurate and truthful. Pros: Very easy to set up Can be powered via USB or wall outlet [adaptor included] Included USB 3 to USB C data / power cable for the 3 Port USB 3 Hub♠ Sturdy construction Draws air from underneath - no worries about possible intake of expelled warm air Strong adjustable hieght mechanism Aluminium 'heatsink' plate [between laptop and cooler vents Powerful fans with max 4000 RPM♣ Adjustable foam 'riser' gives a great seal while letting excess air escape♥ Metal restraints that help hold laptop in place [easily height adjustable] Multiple effect [or off] RGB lighting♦ ♠ At the rear; cooler has a USB Hub. The hub is not powered from the power in [wall outlet] power source but from a USB port on laptop. The included cable goes from a usb port of the latop to USB C of the hub thus providing power for the hub and data transfer. There are three [3] USB 3 ports. I have ran a usb lamp and USB Blu Ray from the hub at same tim with no issues. When not powered from wall outlet the USB C cable also powers the cooler. ♣ When Powered from USB the laptop will use only 2 fans and reach a max 3300RPM not the max 4000RPM [needs outlet power]. However the 3300RPM will be good for many applications. In testing the cooling results [idle desktop] 12 to 13 degrees dropping by about 1 degree per step down [1500 gave about a 5-6 degree drop]. I used Hardware monitors and graphics / CPU stress testers and played Avowed, Atomfall, Startrek Online ane Elderscrolls Online all to test the cooling results. I did some video playback [USB Bluray], light video editing, audio editing, image editing and office task including '.pdf' work. ♥ The foam is like 'memory foam' and provides a very good 'seal' between laptop and cooler while still allowing for air flow. The foam is held in place with four magnet [corners] and comes with a pre-cut detatchable piece - larger laptops = detatch piece - smaller laptops = leave piece in place. ♦ I'm not fond of RGB effects so I either pick a colour and leave it solid or switch this feature off. There are several effecs to 'play with' - you do you! Cons: For me there are no cons as I find the KLIM Turbofrost ideal for my needs. However ther is two things that could cause issue; 1 - This cooler is a beast! Although not too heavy the cooler is [to put it kindly] 'chunky'. Size can matter in a laptop cooler so keep this in mind. 2 - Noise! I could not find my Db meter to monitor the sound. The cooler goes all the way to eleven so to put it! At 1500 RPM the cooler is very quiet but as the RPM increases so does the noise. Up to 3000 RPM the noise is not bad and not too distracting. If you go to 3500 RPM the cooler is fairly noisy but still not too bad. At 4000 RPM the noise [all 4 fans] is somewhat distracing and it is best to turn laptop audio up thus contributing to an 'all in all' quite loud experince that will likely get you ejected from the family room! Although it is not strictly needed, I would recomend using a good set of headphones, preferably with good noise canecelling, in a private room when gaming with the RPM at full power. The cooler is well packaged, has instruction manual and a quaint comic strip fold out included. There are also STICKERS! We all love a sticker! In a very good way the KLIM Turbofrost goes all the way to eleven! The cooler is competitavely priced and reviews well against more expansive brands or models.

Excellent quality, perfect customer service
Had an problem with the first device, but the absolutely wonderful customer service at KLIM sorted this the same day and arranged for a replacement to be sent out and was received the next day, a Sunday. The cooler works wonderfully with my HP Omen gaming laptop and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high quality cooler for their laptop!!

Great product and excellent customer service!
Of course! Here's I am very happy with my Klim TurboFrost! The product works exactly as described and has been a fantastic addition. I did encounter a small problem after using it for a while, but the customer service team was extremely efficient and helpful. They responded quickly, understood the issue, and provided a solution without any hassle. It's rare to find such great support these days. I highly recommend this product and the company behind it!

False Marketing
Size is great and will fit inside a laptop bag good for transportation. The statement this is 4000RPM is incorrect i have another laptop cooler at 2800 RPM outputting more power than this and blasting my laptop cool. 4 x 4000 RPM = 16000 RPM is completely miss leading, i would not recommend this is you are truly seeking cooling, if you are looking for a more portable solution then this is great but because the the false marketing i have only given this product a 2 star review.

Not impressed
Didn't last 3 months. Bearings in the fan went. Started to grind and cooking reduced. Binned it and bought an illano V12. See how that goes.

A good cooling, depend on how laptop and design you could get as cool as its goes. My laptop in idle with cooling at 35 celcius cpu and 32 celcius gpu. Light gaming 50 celcius cpu and 47-50 celcius gpu ( dota and cs2 ). On a AAA title Obscure 33 i got 65 celcius on cpu and 50 celcius on gpu. Before without cooler , my laptop would be around 70-80 celcius on cpu and 60 on gpu on gaming. P.S i have to turn off my own laptop fan , because cooling and laptop fan are conflicting with speed. My laptop is weak , since the cpu is Ryzen 5 7535hs and 4060 (45wattage version). I'm not sure how its work on higher end laptop model. About noise, at max speed its getting as loud as my own laptop fan. anyone would understand if they are owning a gaming laptop.

What prompted this review was really more from my experience with KLIM Customer Support than the actual item. After receiving the cooler, I emailed them a request for sourcing an additional 12 Volt power supply (one came with the cooler but I wanted an extra to leave in a motor home) from Amazon, and within a few hours I received a very courteous reply with a specific model to order, which I did. This along with the very Customer Centric (and humorous) documentation material that came with the cooler gave me a warm fuzzy feeling that excellent support can be had when/if ever needed. KLIM as a company appears to have a great "personality" and I am guessing it is a fun place to work. This is my first laptop "cooler", so I have nothing else for comparison. I am using it for an HP Z Book Studio X360 G5 with an I7 8750H CPU and NVIDIA P1000 Quadro GPU. Air intake is from the bottom with exhaust at both ends. It's not the "latest and greatest" and certainly not a high-end gaming machine, but it meets my needs of business and some Photoshop Graphics work when traveling away from my desktop units. But it has had a tendency to run hot especially with graphics loads. WITHOUT the KLIM cooler, "normal" temps have been in the 75C to 80C range with occasional heat throttling temps of 90C+. WITH the cooler operating at 3,000 to 4,000 RPM, temps have been reduced to the 55C-60C range with occasional peaks under load of 65C...as reported by HWiNFO 64. Ambient room temperature is typically at about 24.4C / 76F. Before purchasing I had noticed some reviews complaining about excessive noise, no cooling effect, bad odor, only uses two of the four fans with USB laptop power, no air filtration, air intake at the bottom, claim of 16,000 RPM, and high price. Commenting on these reported issues based on my opinions and experience with this unit to date actually covers a lot of this review: 1. NOISE. I have noticed zero mechanical noise, but yes, you can hear air movement. At full speed 4,000 RPM of each of the four fans, air movement sound is noticeable...but certainly not objectionable, at least not to me. Unless you are using a true Thermo Electric / Peltier effect cooling system, the ONLY cooling benefits of this unit or any other similar fan-based unit, is from forcing additional ambient temp air into the laptop, resulting in additional air flowing over the laptop's heat exchange system. More air means more sound from the air movement...and this is likely more from the laptop's internal air flow path and exhaust vent size than anything the cooler itself causes. If I turn the cooler over and listen at the bottom, I can hear a bit of sound from the intake, but not much. All the cooler does is produce a positive high pressure air source to the intake of the laptop. The more positive pressure, the more air flow. I don't have an air flow meter, but the laptop's exhaust air volume is a LOT higher with the cooler than without. And right now as I write this review , CPU avg temp is 48C at 3,000 RPM. 2. NO COOLING EFFECT. I certainly don’t have the reviewer’s personal experience to draw from, but, from my experience, I don’t see how this could be. More air flow into and out of the laptop means more CPU cooling. Based on my comments in number 1, I have ask if there could be something wrong in the air flow path of the reviewer's laptop (intake restriction maybe???). Or maybe the laptop’s air intake didn’t mesh with the cooling unit’s discharge area? 3. BAD ODOR. No noticeable odor / smell at all. My wife concurs and she has an Olympic gold standard of smell. 4. ONLY USES TWO OF THE FOUR FANS WITH USB LAPTOP POWER. Yeah, the description might coulda been a Bit clearer on this...but regardless, I did see this in another review, and it doesn't make any difference to me. Running only two fans from USB power is a good compromise for battery life of the laptop. 5. NO AIR FILTRATION. My unit has an easily removable / washable filter over the bottom air intake. 6. AIR INTAKE AT THE BOTTOM. Yes, it is, but not sure why this is seen as a problem. It's not a problem for me. 7. CLAIM OF 16,000 RPM: Yeah, I guess this could be considered a bit misleading, but I consider it just "MARKETING MATH"... and there is clear description of four fans running at full speed of 4,000 RPM each. I put this in the same "Marketing Speak hyperbole" category as "unleash Cryogenic Cooling". I doubt if anyone who can operate a computer would believe this cooling unit could achieve minus 130F cryogenic temp or even match its description name of "TURBOFROST" (frost requiring temps close to the freezing point of water). 8. HIGH PRICE. Subjective...of course, I would have preferred to pay $50.00 or $25.00, and a lot of others on Amazon are cheaper. I looked at them and made the decision that the apparent quality of the KLIM unit justified the price. This and them having solid Customer Support. But darn it, it is now about $5.00 cheaper than a few days ago when I purchased it . Luck of the draw I suppose. Now a few minor nitpicks: 1. The USB and DC power ports are deeply recessed into the back, making them a bit challenging to insert...but not a significant problem. 2. RGB lighting. An annoying distraction to me but probably appeals to the vast majority of buyers. No problem since I can turn it off by depressing the RGB color button for a few seconds. But my preference would be a simple on/off slide switch to permenantly disable the lights. 3. ummmm...can't think of anything else. All in all, it appears well constructed and totally does what it is supposed to do...it works! I would definitely purchase it again…especially at $5.00 less cost😊. Of course, the real test will be its performance over time, but I feel it will meet that challenge!

I don't take the time to write a lot of reviews but I truly believe this product deserve the best review possible. First of all, it is THE BEST cooling pad i've ever used. It keeps my CPU very cool. I had issue lately with overheating when playing AAA games even with a (cheaper) cooling pad. No more crashes with the turbofrost, it keeps my CPU at 50c at max. The fans aren't as noisy as a lot of people are saying, and when you rest your laptop on the foam, it silences it even more. My laptop fans are noisier than the cooling pad. It's conception is sturdy, ergonomic and looks good. Fans can be set from 1500 to 4000 RPM by 500 RPM increment, but I just keep it at 4000 RPM. Packaging looks good and you get a little gift from KLIM. Very impressed by the product and price. It is a must buy if you want to keep your laptop cool and healthy while gaming.
