Plantronics 81083-01 Replacement Headset for CT14 , Black

This headset works perfectly with my Plantronics portable phone, CT14 DECT. I thank Patti and her company, and Amazon for representing her business.

I've been using the CT14 for about a decade. By today's standards, I'll admit that it's a bit "old school," but the sound quality, range and battery life can't be touched by most of the more modern alternatives. Eventually, though, the wire between the headset and handset wears out where it's secured behind the belt clip - I'm on my third headset and all suffered the same fate. Thankfully, though, this replacement is absolutely identical to what ships with the CT14. The quality, clarity and comfort are just as I'd expect.

06 November 2025 Thursday 2:11 PM MST Received this new headset for an existing older Plantronics CT12 wireless 2.4 GHz base station, and it functions well with much better clarity hearing other person on the telephone. Was an exact match of original headset (without Plantronics name). If you have an older Plantronics headset, definitely replace it with this new one for clearer conversations over a landline telephone. Thanks, Paul in Arizona

Perfecr replacement for your CT14 phone. I use my phone daily and catch the cord on item pulling it loose from the phone. So based on the abuse I give the phone and headset, I fully expect to buy a new one each year. The phone is rock solid, the headset fron this supplier is perfect, fast and had ZERO issue. Great seller and product. Avoid the price of a new haedset and buy this refurb. It is worth it!!!!

T. A. Zearat Ali is on the money with his review. This is an excellent headset for the CT-14 phone. It has enough volume for an old man like me and is comfortable. I work from home and use this headset at least eight hours per day. Please Plantronics, find a way to make the cable on this headset beefier. I am buying my third headset in about a year and I treat it very gently. The problem lies in where the headset's plug (male connection) goes into the phone's jack (female connection.) The cable breaks down just after the plug from everyday flexing and shorts out the audio. I have tried using the phone and headset with the cable in the groove and the security clip in place and without. It makes no difference. It wears out fairly quickly.

I had an old, over-the-ear headset that worked really well and I really liked it. Then, the cats got ahold of it and that was that. I had a headset similar to this for my work phone many years ago and I loved it. I was so excited to find this version which is compatible with my cordless landline phone. This headset has the option to be worn over the ear or over the head and it's very easy to change between the two options. Sadly, Plantronics/Polycom does not have a newer version of this headset, so I will guard this one.

Bought this headset in April and it stopped working this November, 2025. I was using it with my cordless plantronics landline unit. I would dial a phone number on my unit but wouldn’t hear anything even though the plantronics landline unit was actually dialing the phone number I had entered. This is the shortest time any headset I’ve purchased for my cordless landline has stopped working.

The seller was great. I would buy from them again. This is just the 5th headset I have bought as a replacement for my Plantronics CT-14 in the last year and a half. They keep shorting out. I think it may be due to using the cord retainer on the phone that clips it behind the belt clip. So now I am not using the retainer. It has been cheaper to buy new headsets than a new phone setup. I have babied the last 3 pair to no avail. Just wish Plantronics made a headset as good as the phone.
