Pretty happy
Just completed my third conversion bike using this kit. (the work on the first two done by my son-in-law). As a bike mechanic, I've got a long way to go but I have to admit it was pretty simple. The help I got from this vendor was impressive. First, I found the power cable was not long enough...always helpful "Sherry" had an extension fabricated and shipped from China in short order. For would be bike converters, I would say that the biggest problem encountered on all three bikes was dealing with the shift cable track under the bottom bracket...it must be dealt with before the motor can be installed. My conversion bike is now running circles around all my friends commercially made bikes.

Fastest e-bike in town now
Actually this motor went on a Sun Trike Ez Classic but I have the same BBSHD or BBSO3 as they call it here I have the same motor on a full suspension bicycle here in my little beach town. I don't know why more people don't buy these motors its so easy just take out the front peddle stuff that came with the bike and these motors slide right in and bolt on 2 bolts then that end cap thing its so easy. For less then $1000 build something way better then anything then I saw in the bike shop or other people riding. Hub motors are boring, one speed, its like riding an electric screwdriver with hub motors with these mid drives you can shift to low gear for take offs or hills and high gear for speed. I also like that you can't tell my bikes are motorized so much. I think people automatically look at the back tire to see if it has a motor because people say oh that's electric pretty often. My full suspension downhill mountain bike with this motor came out pretty good, again people don't seem to notice its an e-bike which is good I think like if heavy car traffic and no pedestrians I ride the sidewalk. So yesterday I put the new motor in this review on the sun trike I was going slow this couple is passing me on store bought e-bikes and the dude jokingly said you want to race? I'm like okay and down shifted and went right past them he is like oh he is winning to his wife kinda surprised.

Seems durable.
Purchased the 500 watt BBS HD is perfect for my 29 inch 7 speed cruiser bike. Takes a few hours to install. Get a bike cable cutter if you don't have one. Installation will be much easier with the tool for two minor cable alterations.

Great all around kit!
I put this on a cargo bike for around town errands. Install was fairly simple after watching a couple of YouTube videos. I did have to create a mount for the speed sensor as the cable that came with it is plenty long for a normal bike but not an extended tail cargo bike (nor did I expect it to be). If you are creative with your cable management you can keep you cockpit fairly clean. I wrapped some of the longer brake sensor cables around my brake cables and some others around the handle bars to shorten up their length. I did upgrade the chainring to a Lekkie shortly after as the stock one is very heavy steel. With a 42 up front and a standard 8 speed in back , well over 30 mph is possible but I haven’t really needed anything faster than 30 on a cargo bike. With a 52 v 20 ah battery I can get somewhere between 70 and 100 miles with pedaling at a nice pace. It is definitely much nicer than the hub motors in my opinion.

Wrong display
I just converted this motor with all the accessories onto my bike and I love it. Unfortunately I spent extra money on a Bluetooth display which the seller didn’t send. They sent a different one and I’m hoping they contact me soon to make it right.

Thousand watt motor works fine
1000 W motor seems to be working pretty well. The only problem when your body motors they are not programmed to write at a faster speed that you’re used to and you would have to learn how to program the motor to get it to where you like it, but that’s dangerous because You could also burn up your motor by doing that just that the manufacture needs to learn how to program these motors like for instance I didn’t program my motor and I have nine pillows sis molds on my cockpit so level one is too slow level two is slow, but not fast enough and three is fast too fast so if they could program the motor between two and three for level one and then bump it up 10% for all the other levels that will be a much better motor to ride with

Awesome!
Fun project with very fun results! Just don't put the crank arms on the wrong sides like I did and you won't have any issues; didn't even need instructions. Absolutely get the programming cable (you're going to want to tweak the settings) and I highly recommend the DM03 small screen (minimalist - everything you need, nothing you don't). Comes with a (meh) headlight, crank puller, and bottom bracket remover. Bottom line: the BBSHD has more than enough power to get you up steep hills that make electric scooters and hub motors cry.
