CAP Barbell 2-Inch Olympic Bumper Plate Weight Set | 100-370 lbs | Multiple Options

These are a recent purchase, so my review is based on what came out of the box. I read all of the reviews about smell and oil - so maybe I was overprepared, but I am really pleased with what I received for the price I paid.Were they oily? Yes, but there is also a valid reason for it - and it was very easy to clean off.Do they smell? Yes. I think the lower weight (10s and 15s) were the worst, but again, I expected that and it wasn't as bad as I had read.Are they precise? Probably not, but they are budget. I have not weighed them, but they feel balanced on my barbell, so I take no issue with the fact that there might be some variance.Were they in perfect condition? Almost. One of the 45s had a small dent the size of a finger tip (nothing I feel I need to return over). One of the 10s had a little bit sharper of an edge from the molding (skimmed with a blade and that was remedied). They look great, and the color coded lettering is a fun touch. They all fit properly on the barbell.Once out of the box and bag, I washed with Murphy's Oil Soap, set them outside for the day to air, washed again when they came in. The smell was greatly diminished. I did one more day of this and the smell was almost entirely gone. I have also read that sprinkling baking soda and letting it sit - or spraying/washing with a water/vinegar mix will also help.I have seen many reviews regarding the 10's and 15s being flimsy and breaking easy. They are a 1 inch thick rubber plate - at this price point, structural integrity is probably a mute point, and can be solved by not using them solo.Overall - as a starter set, I am extremely happy with what I received. If that changes over time, then I will update and edit.

These are great for home gym. No smell. They have oily film so wash them with some soap once received. These are excellent weights for the price.

Just got them in and I am impressed. I like that they seem a little thinner thank other bumper plates I’ve used in the past and the expanded metal center is very nice! The rubber does have a bit of an odor when it comes out of the box but it was expected. Very happy with my plates and excited to have them! Great value for what you are getting!

You get what you pay for, and at this price point, a few cosmetic imperfections aren’t a dealbreaker for me.For a beginner like me, these plates are spot-on. They’re durable enough for standard lifts and drops (I’ve got them on horse stall mat setup), and the rubber coating keeps the noise and floor damage to a minimum. They’re not fancy or high-end, but they don’t need to be—at this price, you’re getting solid, no-frills bumper plates that work for deadlifts, squats, or whatever else you’re throwing at them. Weights are weights, and these do the job just fine.If you’re building a starter gym and don’t want to spend a fortune, CAP bumper plates are a fantastic option. Just be prepared for a little cleanup when they arrive and don’t expect perfection with the finish. For the cost and performance, I’d say they’re a win—perfect for anyone easing into home lifting without breaking the bank!

Amazing price now that I see rouge and Nikes prices wowzers!! I bought the speckled ones cuz they look dope.Most definitely were greasy/slimy but it took me about 30 mins and some all purpose cleaner and they are no longer grimy. I’m sure it’s to make them last and not dry out.For over $300 savings compared to bigger brands I will get just as fit lifting these weights. Thanks cap will come back for a bar soon

Weights look nice but they are oily and smell horrible!! I cleaned them multiple times and let them air out for two weeks. When I open my garage door the smell punches you in the face. They smell so bad I had to get rid of them and didn't even get to use them

The weights themselves are nice, seem like a great quality. The smell is absolutely awful. I have washed, scrubbed and aired these outside in the elements for weeks and they still smell of offgassing chemicals.
