Freegin Awesome (Boxer Dog Owner)!
So my first robot vacuum was an original iRobot Roomba many years ago prior to this auto-dump tech. I loved that thing and it still works to this day, however obviously its nearly daily use maintenance was too much for me to do each time. FFWD to now: I live alone with a boxer dog and am gone to work each day so my home's floor was just too much for me to be able to maintain. I decided to invest in a new tech auto-dump technology robotic vac, which would be perfect. Nutshell: after much research and my great experience with iRobot, I decided to order up their latest and greatest, and at "greatest" cost. Supply chain issues delayed delivery for a month, okay, got that. After a month, emailed company just to simply get an update. Did this four or so times over the following month. I received zero, absolutely zero responses, to my utter surprise. Placed two phone calls in to their customer service, and each time after on hold for 45 minutes, I gave up. I was willing to wait - but.... Their product originated in development from the USA, by higher ed students originally afterall. Wellll, suffice it to say I experienced the outsourcing effects of their company. To cancel, I ended up having to go to the lengths of changing my credit card number, updating auto-charges from other providers on that account and it was THEN that I FINALLY heard back from iRobot. Who would want to invest $1300 in a device with zero company customer service response after 4-6 or so tries? Not me. So saddened to see yet another great company to sail off our lands. So I decided to give Shark a try at half the price-I have some of their appliances which have been great. First delivery didn't go well, and that's because I didn't pay attention to the exact model AND the seller. It arrived, I set it up, and the battery would not take a charge. Turns out it was a "previous" model - obviously had sat on some shelf for who knows how long. Returned, and Amazon covered my back on this. More research showed me that that unit wasn't the current model. I decided to order this one which at this time is the CURRENT model, and sold THROUGH Amazon, fully returnable. I can not say enough about this little critter! It's just amazing! This robot vac has made a huge difference to my home. I don't really understand the other reviews' complaints about it's vacumming "noise" be it while operating or on its base in sucking out the bin. It's absolutely no louder than my wired Dyson unit while "sounding like an airplane taking off," for all of less than 10 seconds. To me, the freegin louder it is, the better it's cleaning out the robot! I launched it without even preemptively vacuuming my home- it worked hard and it took a few good cleaning out's to get it more leveled out and that's on me. I made a few changes to my home physically and reset its map by deleting the map (put my couch up on hockey pucks for access-it's about 3.5" tall). It's now re-learning my home and doing a fantastic job after several runs! I can add "high traffic 'rooms' " or areas layed over the top of overall rooms. Contrary to other reviews I've read, probably earlier ones, you can add rooms and name them to your use- I've overlayed "rooms" over larger "rooms." I love this thing! I can't believe it's only been a month of use - I've used the crap out of this thing. No issues and very adaptable. The only thing I look forward to is to be able to program more than one program. You can currently program one session- per day, per week, every each day of your choice, but of your selection of rooms identified including all of the rooms. Can't do an additional sub program of, say, "high traffic areas," which I've added as additional "rooms." I've read that is coming in future software updates. iOS WiFi connectivity is great. Map views when swiping give you more than one historical map of effected coverage. At half the price, "customer service" response remains to be seen (I've not had to), I would recommend this unit. Just make sure you look at current models, and not the older very similar looking models. As with any robotic vac, I'd recommend a home, or shop-use air compressor with regulated output to soften as needed for blowing out all as needed. I also found some great video reviews online that taught me a lot about this model line- very similar responses. By design, one can tell older vs newer units simply by how its dump cannister is designed. The map image I am attaching is one of its first runs of learning, and you can see it did a really good job of coverage for its first attempt. Smaller home in my case but numerous areas-after which I edited rooms, areas and overlayed high traffic areas as additional rooms for double-cleaning. It's been great once my home floor condistions leveled out and the robot can easily cover all areas. Not hard at all- give it a whirl! Hope this helps some. r-

Sturdy, Functions well, smart
Definitely get the app for the Shark, and it will basically solve all the little problems and nuances. The app is pretty easy to use for the most part but then again, I might be a little more tech savvy than most. I would follow the instructions to a T to not miss anything. When it does the mapping, make sure you have everything set in your home that will remain on the floor so things like paper, keys, and stuff remove all those things if it's not affixed to or going to remain on the floor and then have the shark go through and map, everything. If it's a rug is bigger than 4 or 5 feet, then I would highly encourage to keep it there while keeping in mind, the shark may get stuck if it's not flat or has, I guess like adhesive or furniture to keep the rug or carpet to the floor. A lot of people mention problems about functionality. I think this is the most easiest thing I've ever used in terms of tech. I love how the shark actually lifts up over things to the point where I have almost lost it going out the door because I have the door open. It basically reminds me of one of those robots that is utilized with the police department but maybe not as tech savvy as nasa, but it does lift over stuff that is of anywhere, from half an inch to an inch. You can even set the shark to clean on a schedule. But I caution that because if you're not home, it may get stuck, and the battery may die if you're gone for more than 6-8 hours. It's generally not a issue.I just have to go find the shark at its last known location & then I pick it up and unstuck it and send it to the dock or I have to manually carry it to its dock. Keep in mind if you have pets.I would weekly clean the shark out to ensure no pet hair gets stuck in there. This product is incredibly sturdy and functions.Incredibly well, as well as cleans vacuums and mops, while dumping all its debris and its containers so make sure you dump out the clean and dirty water.

Returning ASAP
I've had an older Shark robot vacuum for several years & it works great - never struggles with area rugs and works well. I decided to upgrade to a Shark robot vacuum + mop combo. Out of the box, the "never touch" 60 day model AV2800ZE was easy to set up & I love the ease of access to the clean & dirty water tanks. So I set it up, sent it off to map the house, and was underwhelmed by the way it struggles to go over all the area rugs. Doesn't matter if they're thin, thick, lightweight, or have non-slip (heavier) backing - every time this robot transitions from solid surface to an area rug, it "trips" (my old Shark robot has zero issues with these same rugs). At one point I heard it in the hall sounding obviously stuck on something and when I went to investigate, it was stuck on a corner and tangled in the hall runner to the point that it frayed my new area rug! I decided maybe that was just a fluke & I'd let it finish mapping the house then send it for an actual vacuum session & see if it improved once the "obstacles" were known. I will say it does vacuum well and even though I'd just vacuumed with my upright vacuum, this little robot still managed to find more debris so in that regard, it's fine. But the area rugs were still a struggle. I've posted a sped-up vid of sending the robot to vacuum a specific room and in the video you'll see it tripped over the area rug, made a few passes, then inexplicably decided it was done in that room and sent itself back to the dock (it was fully charged & did not need to empty any debris). It barely vacuumed 1/5th of the room and was less than impressive in the way the area rug outwitted it. And if that wasn't enough, I sent the robot to mop the dining room and it left entire mapped areas untouched before deciding it was done and returned to the dock. Finally, although my old Shark and this new Shark use the same SharkClean app, the interface completely changes for each device. The old Shark has an easy to use interface that allows me to actually map each room the way I want it to map but the new device somewhat forces what it thinks each room is, then makes me "separate" rooms and then merge them back together - hard to explain but it's just frustrating that the new device doesn't have the same functionality in the app as the old one - and it's bizarre because I toggle between the two Sharks in the app and the interface totally changes from one to the other, and not in a good way. So for $800 I expected this to work just as well if not considerably better than the $200 Shark robot vacuum I've had for 5 years but it falls short in every way. I had such high hopes & was beyond excited to buy & use this new Shark I'd splurged on, but I'm so disappointed with this purchase. Will be returning it promptly and sticking with my old Shark robot vacuum and a regular old mop, I guess.

Love this vacuum!
We have had a roomba for about 15 years now. The one was had was a “dumb” model, it only knew where it was by running into something and missed huge pieces of the room every time it ran which caused us to have to go around and sweep and vac behind it anyway. This shark went on sale and I figured it was time to take the plunge. I am glad I did! Set up was easy, connect the app, let it map your house, and that’s about all. You have to fill the clean water tank and then it’s ready to run. It was neat to watch it map the house. As far as in use this thing is great. It’s extremely quiet compared to the one we had previously and also compared to a normal vacuum. It does a great job of cleaning going back and forth in rows and not missing areas. It also doesn’t bump into anything which is nice! When it’s done with the vac portion and it docks the internal vac on the dock empties the dust bin of the shark and it’s ready to go again, you just pull off the dust tank of the dock and empty periodically. The mop feature is also excellent. Before you mop the first time allow the shark to run “carpet detect” in your home and it’ll find the rugs and such and avoid mopping them in the future, it’s amazing. It mops just as well as it vacs, in rows, not missing areas. When complete it goes to the dock and empties the water tank, cleans the pad, and starts charging to prepare for the next run. The dirty water tank needs to be emptied and cleaned from time to time but that’s pretty simple. The nastiness in this tank will show you just how well the shark is cleaning! The only “thing” about it is that I don’t see how anyone can go a month without cleaning the dirty water tank, the dust bin, and filling the clean water. We have a small house and we have to do those things at least 2-3 times a month. Perhaps if you’re cleaning a single room, I don’t know. That’s not really a complaint though, just a mention since it is advertised as not needing anything for a month. All in all this was a great purchase, worth every cent, especially on sale. If you’re thinking about it just go ahead and buy. This vac absolutely delivers on what it says.

So handy definitely makes life easier
I love this Shark robot vacuum and mop combo! Setup was super easy and it connected to the app right away. The vacuum does a great job picking up dust, crumbs, and pet hair, and the mop function really surprised me—it actually leaves the floors looking clean instead of just damp. The self-emptying and self-refilling features are a game changer; I don’t have to think about it every day, which makes it so convenient. The pad cleaning and drying feature is also great because it keeps everything fresh. I really like that it can run for weeks without needing much attention. It also navigates well around furniture and rarely gets stuck. Honestly, it feels like having an extra set of hands around the house. If you want something that truly makes floor cleaning hands-off, this is worth it.

Always buy Shark!!
I love love love my shark vacc mop . I have had my regular shark vacuum for about 6yrs , I had two, one for my kitchen living room open area. The other for my bedroom that is huge and a step down from the rest of house. So just bought me the vacc mop , I love it , always buy shark no need for other. Great investment. Noe I will give my vacc to my daughter and the other to my mother so I can get me another vacc mop for bedroom. Just maintain as asked and will last a very long time. Easy to setup, connected quickly to WiFi , the schedule is perfect , starts up everyday at 8am vacuuming and mopping my house in under 2hrs. I have 3 schnauzer, they don’t she’d much but they bring in dirt and grass from outside , the vacuum picks everything up. The functionality is great. 2 thumbs up……

Listen to the pet hair expert
First let’s start off with some clarifications. I have used the roomba vacs with their version of a auto empty feature and after using the shark I can tell some difference. Coming from a guy that has a German shedder (shepherd), pet hair is always a big concern as well as hair wrapping around the roller etc Carpet: don’t expect ANY robot vac to be good with carpet. I own shark standup vacs and they work great on carpet. The robot vacuums (shark or roomba) do not pick up that good on carpet and I don’t care what they say about this new shark version having better suction power, it’s false. I have used this model AV### and the previous model RV###(thanks to a sale at Sam’s club). It’s plain and simple, expect to vacuum your rugs and carpets after this thing is done because hair will be left behind etc. Roomba isn’t any better, same issues with carpet, no robot vacuum has the power to eliminate hair on carpet as compared to a regular standup vacuum. Just don’t have unrealistic exceptions and you’ll be pleased Hardwoods/tile/concrete flooring: this thing works great, and most robo vacs work great on flat surfaces such as hardwood floors etc. I found no difference between the shark and roomba brands when it comes to NON-CARPET areas. Hair warp on rollers: shark is the clear winner here, their roller rarely has hair clumped up in it as you would expect with any vacuum but shark is superior in the area. The roomba has a dual rubber rollers which is nice but can cause hair to wrap or get stuck in the roller rather than being sucked into the dust bin. Noise: this one makes me laugh, it’s a vacuum…a vacuum cleaner is going to be loud regardless. So if you want something quiet..I suggest a dust pan and broom ;). Get over the noise if you want a powerful cleaner and not some cheap version of a robot vac that doesn’t pick up anything In comparison, shark wins! Lower price point which is reasonable, roomba is outrageous for their pricing. If you want to charge that much for a robot vacuum (roomba, almost $800) then you better be able to pick up everything and pet hair on carpet areas. Like I said, none of them are that impressive so don’t get your hopes up. Coming from a pet owner, this shark robot vac is great and helps tremendously with keeping up with all the hair and no hair wrapped in the vac. Worth the money but I would buy the older version because it’s cheaper and the suction power is not any better in my book. Both versions work great on all non carpet surfaces. Only drawback for shark is that they need to update their app. You can only schedule one time per day to run an auto schedule. This needs to be improved to multiple times per day and they will be knocking it out of the park. Very similar features to roomba but needs some slight upgrades on the app. Also you don’t need bags for the auto dispensing home thing for shark. Big plus! Roomba makes you buy these stupid little bags that don’t hold much. Shark is on the right track and I’m sure it will get better and better. Don’t waste your money on roomba, it’s just the name brand we all know and they are ahead in the technology but shark is right behind. Roomba is not work your money, get this shark and save some money, best auto dispensing system to date. Just improve the app a little and make a powerful robot vacuum to clean up pet hair on carpets and you will kill this market share. Thanks for joining my Ted Talk, enjoy your day!

Works well
I bought this as a gift for my niece to help her keep her apartment clean. The apartment is an unusual shape and also hosts three cats and a German Shepherd. We have encountered two small problems with the product The first is that the robot would not start its exploration run where it maps the rooms. The app showed an animation indicating that the mapping was in progress, but the robot never left the base where it was charging. Canceling and retrying yielded the same results every time. Eventually we force-quit the iOS app, and this time the exploration worked and built an accurate map of the entire floor. The second issue is that the robot failed to remove the dirty water of the first mop cleaning into the gray water tank of the base. Instead it spilled onto the floor around the base. But this turned out to be human error: the lid of the gray water tank of the base wasn’t completely closed, preventing it from producing the suction needed to lift the water up into the gray water tank. Other than that, the robot works really well. It required minimal assembly to put into service, it is quiet, and vacuuming and mopping work well. It has handled obstacles, irregular boundaries and rugs well, even when the edges weren’t lying flat.
