Good solid long lasting boots
These are the first boots that have lasted me more than 6 months and I am hard on walking boots. I have used these at least 2 to 3 times a week and normaly do about 8 to 10 kms each time. They are still waterproof but the sole is just about worn out, the laces finally gave up about 3 weeks ago. To sum up I would recommend these to anyone who want a good solid boot that is comfortable from the first day and has plenty of grip.

Comfortable good choice
My second pair of these. They are very comfortable, quite light and made well. I hike alot and have got through quite a few pairs of boots. Sure they will start to have problems once you've done 3 or 4 hundred miles but in my experience all boots do. Hiking boots are workhorses (assuming they are used as intended); they shouldn't be seen as normal footwear. If you're an avid outdoorsy type you will be buying new boots quite regulary. I'd say these particular boots are a good choice.

A good entry level walking boot
This was an emergency purchase when I was unable to use my regular walking boots on a recent holiday in the UK Lake District. I have large feet (UK 15/16 or EU 50.5-51.0) so I do not usually have a lot of choice at this size. They were long enough but because of my thin feet I need to wear two pairs of thick walking socks to fill the space in the boot. Compared to top of the range brands which sell at the £250-£300 range these boots are quite soft both in the sole and in the material of the uppers. This makes them comfortable to wear and gave me a feeling of cushioning underfoot but I could feel stones through the soles when walking. They do not come as far above my ankles as my other boots (Scarpa) and this, combined with the relatively soft upper material means there is not as much ankle support as I am used to. This is not a problem ascending but it can be a problem when descending on steep terrain particularly when walking on grass. Having said all that I used them for several walks in the 10km-12km range with 500-600m of climbing over ground that varied from grass, gravel, stones and large rocks and they coped very well. I did not have the opportunity to test them in wet weather. If I were doing a walk of 20-25km with 1000’s of meters of descent I would use my Scarpa boots (much stiffer sole and more supportive upper and around the ankles) but on less challenging outings the Columbia boots performed well and represented good value for money (£80ish)

Warm, no break in, comfy
I'm usually a 12-12.5 in trainers, bought these in 13 uk size and paired with some wool insoles they were the perfect fit. Worn in the north of Norway for a week with no break in period, averaged 15,000 steps a day, fully submerged in snow at points, didn't get a single blister or notice my feet were cold or wet at any time. would highly recommend

Bitterly Disappointed - NOT Waterproof!
This is the third pair of walking boots I’ve purchased in just over a year. I purchased these (and previous pairs) solely for dog walking. The previous two pairs (both different manufacturers) have failed the simple ‘walking a dog through dewy grass) test. As I spent a little more than I usually do on this pair and as they are from a reputable manufacturer I had high hopes that they’d manage this. Initially, walking through dry fields, woods and lanes these boots seemed perfect. The fit, weight, support and grip are superb; however, the first time I walked through damp grass my feet were soaking in minutes. This is where it always goes wrong! Why do manufacturers sell a boot and claim they are waterproof if you can’t even venture into a dewy field? I’ve now returned these boots and requested a full refund, they are basically not fit for purpose, if you are looking for a waterproof boot I suggest you look elsewhere as unfortunately, there are not. Final note, I’ve given one star as zero stars are not available, that’s how disappointed I am with these boots.

Comfortable and supportive but have worn very quickly.
Initially very good! Super comfortable from the word go and could wear them for long periods without any issue. However they’re now just over a year old and have both split across the front and towards the sole. Have kept them clean and protected them and this has still happened. Suspect I’m out of guarantee now but did expect to get a bit more use out of them.
