Only 3 holes--(top, bottom & back)--the 4 extra wells are dummies, NOT knockouts
I bought it because I prefer aluminum to plastic outdoors. It was identical in appearance to a plastic box I had with threaded wells and with knockout bottoms. Wrong. In a hurry, I thought I'd just drill through them anyway--both needed holes were on the bottom ( I have a drill press and 7/8" bit). That solved only half the problem. The aluminum wells lack threads and were too deep to accommodate a standard nut ring on the inside. It took two 2" nipples and two threaded PVC adapter couplings to penetrate enough to screw the ring nut tight. By then I'd wasted more time than a trip to Home Depot to grab another plastic box with easy knockouts.

Great Outlet Box - but arrived without essential installation parts
First of all this is a very well-made smart looking dual outlet box ... but it arrived without parts essential to its installation.This weatherproof outlet box was purchased for external surface mounting to control an irrigation pump. The components are listed as including "mounting lugs with screws" - mine arrived with only one lug rather than the four required. The box has no permanent mounting lugs.Secondly, although the box is comes with two closure plugs, it does not include a strain relief cable gland for the incoming power cable.Bottom line - installation requires a trip to the hardware store to purchase the required parts. My rating therefore reflects -1 star for the missing lugs; -1 star for the lack of a strain relief; and -1 star for the inconvenience. Otherwise the box is usable as a bronze paperweight.
