LAUNCH CR3001 OBD2 Scanner

I ordered this because I couldn't find my two old OBDII readers (lost somewhere in the garage...) I didn't want to spend much money because I know the old ones will eventually turn up when I'm looking for sandpaper or something similar. This one is from a reliable company and the price is right! It's well-built, comes with a cover for the connector and even a USB cable for update. No instructions, but it's so simple none are needed. It worked perfectly to read the codes that caused a Check Engine Light on my 2010 Mercedes E350. I also cleared the codes and the CEL went away. The CEL will probably come back because the code is for low engine temperature and that is almost certainly a stuck open thermostat. Solid manufacturer, solid build, solid functionality, solid Value For Money.... 5 Stars!!

To me this is the perfect scanner to carry in my glove compartment in the event that I get a check engine light when I am driving on the road or I want to check my vehicle before I take a smog check. It was a simple initial update to get started and with the lifetime update included it works out perfect to check any of my vehicles.

"How to complete tool upgrade/update" 1 Register it first and receive email with your confirmation. Don't do anything else until this step is complete or you won't be in their database to do the upgrade!! (24-48hrs) 2 Download the software tool and if version 1.06 doesn't work find version 1.04 and upgrade software which version 1.04 will do automatically and then be at a working 1.06! 3 Run the software first and once open, THEN PLUG IN THE SCAN TOOL VIA USB NO MATTER WHAT YOU SEE ON THE PC SCREEN!! 4 It will then automatically go out and find software to upgrade tool and flash the scanner. Mine went from 1.00 to 1.06 or something like that. Scanner tool information, software version etc.. Verify the firmware upgrade. ------------------------------------------------------ Very easy to use, I had bought the Creader 3001 because my 2008 Chevy Silverado had thrown a code on a very cold day when I was trying to get on it to pass someone. I Received the tool in the mail and immediately without reading instructions I took it out plugged into the vehicle and read the DTC code, it was a code P1174 which was an emissions code of air/fuel mixture rich. I used the tool to clear the code since I knew was only thrown because it was very cold and the vapours were very dense that day. So it did the job and has not come back as expected so very easy very quick even without instructions you can use this tool. With the free software upgrades it will be easy to stay up-to-date on any codes or controls that are changed with my vehicle going forward with the most updated technology and scan tool information. Fair tool for the price!!!!

Launch CReader 3001 Instantly Read Fault Code on a Sold in Australia 03/2006 BK Mazda 3. It then Successfully Cleared the Codes, Turning off the Check Engine Light. I was able to do this straight out of the Packaging without reading the Manual. Tool is Cheap, Simple and Intruitive to Use.
