I've used these for multiple vases of flowers over the years - birthdays, valentine's days, just because. The food is so helpful to have!

I tested these on some cut roses, and then decided to put some of this solution in a pot I've got fairy roses in as well after seeing the results. The cut roses stayed vibrant and beautiful for almost twice as long as the ones without the solution in the water, and opened up a little quicker too. My potted rose is a clone of my big plant, but it's been strange ever since it rooted. The parent plant is a large pink princess rose that blooms for months on end so long as I trim it back after each bloom. The clone was a fairy rose, for some reason, stunted and making very few tiny flowers that were barely pink. Far fewer than the branches would normally produce and very small in comparison to the original. I decided to pour four of these packets on with four quarts of water and see what happened; Within five days there are DOZENS more buds on my plant. It's been growing for three years, it's never done this before. It has to be a result of this product. Oddly enough all the flowers are still stunted and tiny, and for some reason the new ones are all white rather than faint pink (or dark pink like the original), but I'm impressed. It triggered a full budding on a plant that was otherwise just really strange... I'm sold! I'll certainly keep using these.

First, these are pre-packaged packets of liquid (not dry powder) of rose food. I dropped one packet in a vase, then put in the tap water. By putting water in with a spray nozzle of the kitchen sink, I didn't have to mix the packet with the water. The spray did the work for me. Finally, I put in a few roses from my garden. I clipped off the leaves and stems that were below the water line. My rose pix span only 3 days and I noticed that there's a very nice rose fragrance in the air. Those that have the dark marble counter background are the first day. The close up of the variegated color is the 2nd day and the one with the lemon tablecloth is the 3rd day. At the time of this review...these packets are 20 cents per piece. They will last me quite a while. I will use a new packet whenever I need to replace the water. I was very disappointed. My roses last longer in plain water. After two days some edges started to turn black, within 3 or 4 days they were clearing dying and all of the petals were turning black. By the end of the week, 7 days, they were totally dead and drying out. I wouldn’t recommend this product and will be sending them back.

We had fresh bouquets for our wedding, grown by a farmer friend and picked the day before - this rose food kept them alive and looking fresh until days after the ceremony!
