Osprey UltraLight Zip Organizer

This organizer shows the idiosyncratic design so characteristic of Osprey. I love that, and I own many Osprey products, but sometimes I still have to scratch my head.This organizer is plenty big enough for lightweight backpacking, carrying those "ten essentials." It has five zippered compartments; one with two zippers (inside and outside) and a stretch fabric side, and one compartment with none. That was the head scratcher for this product. The compartment with no zipper access is on the outside, but the fabric is so thin that you can easily see through it. That makes it perfect for a laminated ID card with contact info and any medical warnings. (You'd be surprised how many people go into the back country with absolutely no ID on them.) One zippered compartment attaches with snaps and has a clear vinyl side, and one has a mesh side. There are also two inside pockets with elastic lips.All in all I love this organizer and highly recommend it. It is light, has great features, is well-made, and is plenty big enough to hold my group-sized first aid kit, waterproof note pad, and the totality of other paraphernalia that I carry on every outing, and more. I cut off the hanging hook and I clipped a button-type LED light to an inside zipper pull. I'm good to go.

I really like this product and bought my second one within a month of obtaining my first one. I use this organizer for my travel tech pouch and toiletry kit. My favorite feature is the mesh exterior zipper that lets you access the main storage compartment when the kit is opened or closed. The least utilized part of the bag (for me) is the separable transparent pouch that I assume is meant for liquid items. When the rest of the organizer has stuff in it, this pouch seems to result in weird bulges if there is anything in it. I normally do not keep it attached.It makes for a well organized tech and travel pouch for smaller objects and cables. I keep my instant access items in the main compartment with some peripherals in the rest of the kit. I keep a couple of items that I do not normally use in the detachable pouch, separate from the rest of the kit unless needed.As a toiletry kit, it is very compact. I find it perfect for short trips on its own and use it as my main kit on longer trips where some larger additional items may be needed. I usually keep any fluids in a separate zip lock during travel for ease of TSA scanning since the organizer can be too small for everything.

Hesitant to buy as all the reviews looked to be from men. So here is a woman’s review.Purchased for carry on international travel for necessities and for week long sailing trip shower bag. Looks small at first and many mentioned not worth the cost- I disagree. It is lightweight-as it should be. Quality zippers and shapes to your items so it fits any bag - not hard sided. Perfect for meds, mini travel sized items, lotion, a few pieces of make up, toothpaste, toothbrush, small Scope, dental floss, 15 make your remover wipes and extra outside compartment for kleenex and a dozen hand wipes. Surprisingly holds more than I thought. Hook is a bonus to hang on those small airport bathrooms and plane areas for long flights. Hook tucks away when not in use.

I'm somewhere between a 3-4 stars on this one. I'll give it 4, with the caveat that you better be packing light. This is for the minimalist traveler or for the office or something. I'm using it for my locker at work. It is lightweight and well built, but small. (see pics)It will hold one Right Guard Deodorant, a pack of Q-tips, two travel Toothpastes and a travel Neosporin, a bar of Soap, a Razor, a Toothbrush without a full cover, and a Few odds and ends. You could squeeze in one other small travel Bottle, either a small shampoo or shaving cream but not both. (I'm bald so I only need the cream or a bar of soap will do for some shaving lube).This wouldn't work for a long trip, or someone who carries a lot of items in their bath kit (most women). It will work for a minimalist packer (some men). It will work for either sex if you pride yourself on traveling "spartan-style".The bag is ultralight, made of a nylon that will hold up reasonably well, but not to abuse. It's a hanging/roll/fold style that I prefer. It has two bigger compartments, and a clear plastic and a mesh smaller comparment, and two useless elastic pockets inside. It's a decent little bag for the essentials only. Maybe that's a good thing if you want to save space or weight.

I got this to pack items I like to have with me on a long international flight like toiletries, glasses, medicines etc. The size and flexible organization was perfect.I wish it came more colors because I want to order more as the size, lightness and organizing potential make it a great pouch for multiple daily purposes.Osprey, I appreciate your quality, style and accessible price on all your products!

This is the 2nd one I've owned now after having my 1st one stolen (along with my backpack) and purposefully sought this organizer out. I use it for travelling, cable management and other common travel needs, like a pen for filling out international travel forms, etc. It's great because rather than try and pull out all the things you think you might need on a plane, if you just keep in organized in here you really only need this one organizer. It's super lightweight, has a lot of different zippered off sections and having owned the 1st one for at least a year and travelled internationally with it, it never frayed, never lost zippers or had tears in the product. It held up really well and I would highly recommend it. I also use it on a daily basis when I'm home, keeping all my cables/adapters, cards, etc. organized in my backpack i take to work. It comes with a little mirror on the inside (attached with a velcro piece so that you can remove it if you want), has belt loops on the back and has a hidden away hook for hanging it up if needed. I highly recommend this!
