Delicious food
Nutrisystem works. I lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks. The food is varied and delicious. The cooking directions work to a T. Everything arrived packed well and frozen solid.

Not a good option
Positive: snacks and Shake mix good. That's it, all other is worse than bad. The dinners are like a paste or over possessed it small pieces of beans, noddles, it's almost a paste. Tastes not good, and texture horrible. Received my package on Friday morning and tossed out the above mentioned on Sunday, after going to the grocery and getting fresh produce and frozen vegetables and canned yellow tuna and other additional health not possessed food items and it cost less than this order... This order costs way too much.

Overall Effective but repetitive
Food is very flavorful (I add some salt to most things but that is because Im a heavy salter and drink over 150oz a water a day). Portions are "small" however thy are correct for what you should be eating like. It's a good kick start to what you should see on your plate if you choose to cook for yourself and also takes the guess work out of it at what I consider the hardest part of a weightloss journey... The beginning. I bought this box and researched to see if I wanted to go on an actual plan from Nutrisystem. What I have found is that while this is a great tool to get started, it is very carb heavy and repetative. Even the "Diabetic" box is carb heavy through the actual plans. I do not have an issue with carbs. I am in the school of thought that you need them regardless of if you have insulin resistance (i have) or diabetes just dont over do it. The issue is the flavor profile is the same because of the carb heaviness. You will have a muffin for breakfast, Pasta for lunch, and pasta for dinner. A sweet snack and shack as well. Yes you add veg but your main dish always has a large carb profile/texture/taste. Again overall effective and totally doable for the 7 days that the box covers; however, I will not buy again unless I just want something to keep in the pantry to use if im just busy that day instead of ordering food.

Get the frozen Nutrisystem meals instead of this
Yes it is a diet, I get it, the portions are by definition "small" so you will lose weight. But come on, this is starvation rations. Literally what you would expect in some kind of disaster movie where the survivors of some apocalypse have to portion out their very limited nutrients down to the tiniest, most minimum sizes possible to stretch it out. I have no problem with the flavor, everything does taste reasonably good. But your whole week's worth of food fits into a little box about half the size of a shoebox, if that gives you an idea, with almost everything just being powders you add water to to reconstitute...or small little powerbars (the size of Snickers) which are supposed to be your entire breakfast or lunch or dinner. And the total calories add up to only around 600 or 700 per day with all the day's food here. You need to add vegetables yourself but that only adds so much with the suggested 4 servings a day which might be around 250 calories or so, you can do the math on that and see how you will be HUNGRY all day. The small 8 ounce shake is but a sip, not stomach filling there so when you consider the actual food you are getting daily with this Nutrisytsem package, it is like I said a starvation plan. For comparison, I also ordered the Nutrisystem FROZEN meals which cost just a few dollars more, and the portion sizes and food quality was like night & day difference! The box delivering the frozen meals contained enough to fill two shelves in my fridge's freezer and everything just felt and looked more substantial. MUCH MUCH more filling when you go with the frozen alternative and the taste is noticeably better too. No small cardboard boxes of powder you add water to and have to call a meal, the frozen version gives you real food, not powders and powerbars. So get THAT one to give you diet effort a much better chance for success, not this one. Don't get me wrong, IF you are looking for something to do a semi-fast for a week to jumpstart your diet, okay this one here will do I guess and you might lose 5 pounds or so (while being hungry all day and night). You do have to add vegetables and fruit so that does increase the otherwise unsatisfying amount of food on your plate, if you get this package. But comparing the two, for the small extra price, I strongly recommend you order the frozen meals from Nutrisystem instead of this skimpy little box that is simply not really worth the money you pay for it.

It works!
I just purchased this plan to quick start my weight loss and it worked! 6 lbs in 7 days! That is very empowering and gives me the willpower to stick to it. The food is good to just OK but it's prepacked diet food, Ok? I wanted a structured approach that took the guess work out and it worked! Am ordering another box today!

Bait and Switch - You won''t get any of those great dinner meals you are ordering
You WILL NOT GET WHAT YOU ORDERED - Nutrisystem does this on purposeThese meals are tasty and work. However, there is a range of choices and this particular "box" is amont the most expensive. Per written communication to me from Nutrisystem, they have intentionally replaced all the grweat dinner choices with far less expensive chicken meals - which you can get for a fraction of the cost if you order that other box. If you love chicken ok but you will NOT get the ravioli or pizza or meatballs or rotini. So if you selected this choice and are willing to pay more for these great dinner meals, you are not going to get it by buying this box. Also, because of this, the FDA reuired nutrition and ingredients information for the substitution is not suppolied which means you may have an unexpected problem if you have specific alergies. Don't blame Amazon - they don't know what Nutrisystem is doing.
