Reliable item, works really well

Prevents my Garmin tumbling down the mountains as I hike. Use with clip for easy GPS access.

Appears to be a good product with good lanyard...only curiosity is whether plastic is high impact and will survive any knocks...time will tell.

Have used this coupled to my Garmin map64s since purchase in November 2019 Pleased to say that after at least 1x 15mile walk and 7 x12 mile walks it has performed without a hitch. The spring return still functions correctly holding the GPS unit tight in the fully retracted position. Excellent piece of kit and highly recommended

Sichert das Garmin gegen Herunterfallen. Die selbstaufrollende Leine ist ca. 70 cm lang, der Aufrollmechanismus selbst ist ca. 4cm x 5cm x 1,5cm. Mit dem Karabiner und dem Ansatz für die Befestigungsschlaufe wächst die Gesamtlänge der Halterung auf ca. 12 cm. Die Befestigungsschlaufe verlängert die ca. 70 cm um ca. 15 cm. Das Garmin hab ich damit an meiner Phototasche befestigt, es steckt allerdings beim Gehen dort in einer Seitentasche. Die Haltering ist meines Erachtens nicht sonderlich geeignet, das e-Trex einfach beim Gehen daran hängen zu lassen ("Gebaumel").

I have used this retractor on my day pack to retain my Garmin Oregon GPS unit. The retractor keeps my GPS unit up on my shoulder and out of the way. Yet, when I need it, it is easily grabbed, used and then simply released. I do MANY hikes with Boy Scouts and record the GPS tracks for future reference, hike reviews, high adventure training, etc. This keeps my numerous hikes on track and recorded without the risk of dropping my expensive GPS unit off a cliff or into a river, etc. I simply love this little retractor tether. I would only suggest that Garmin needs to deal with the length of the cord that attaches their GPS units to the retractor. That 'cord' piece is simply WAY TOO LONG. The length of that piece of cord allows the GPS to flop around roughly 4-5 inches below the retractor. I dumped that piece LONG ago and replaced it with a hand fabricated cable attachment.
