Q: how low does the temperature go? I have been told it should be 3-5C

I have installed a fridge thermometer in my fridge. With the temperature control set at 3, the temperature is currently 5 degrees C. The ambient temperature today is about 24 degrees C. So at well below the maximum cold setting, the fridge is cold enough for all food storage. I hope this is helpful to you.

Q: Can you fit a standard UK 2 pint plastic milk carton in this fridge? Or a 4 pinter?

You can fit the two pint in the door, maybe the four pint but it would be a squeeze. You can put a four pint in the body of the fridge as there is a lift up bit on the top shelf.

Q: How big is the freezer compartment? for example, can you fit a tub of ben and jerrys or haagen daz ice cream in it?

The ice box is small but you could get a ice cube tray in or a small ice cream tub only.
