Rocky Mountain Cooking...and other Great Recipes!
This is the 6th or 7th copy of the cookbook that I have purchased. The first was in 1976 when I was spending time shopping in Estes Park, John Denvers music and T-shirts at every shop. That was one day, the rest of my 8 week trip was spent backpacking through Colorado's wilderness. The cookbook is wonderful. Great recipes done at home over the years. My boys grew up with beef jerky I made from this book. Even in doubling the recipe it would vanish before I barely had a bite. Delicious. Carrot cake from heaven and plenty of other great recipes...some from famous Colorado Chefs, others just good home cooking. I have given this book to many of my friends as a gift.

High Altitude Dwellers, Rejoice!
High-altitude dwellers, rejoice!I live in Denver and have a tough time finding recipes that work in high-altitude areas. Websites exist to help with conversions but none are needed in their book! I love Pinterest recipes as much as the next person but prefer this cookbook because I don't have to worry about modifying the recipe for high-altitude.There are TONS of recipes and they're organized in a practical way so you are able to easily find poultry recipes, cake recipes, etc. This book is several years old - maybe 20 but the recipes are still great! My aunt introduced me to this cookbook. Every time she makes something, it's wonderful and I ask for the recipe and without fail, she got it from this cookbook.

This is IT!
Two of my favorite cousin, who live in Colorado, absolutely rave about this cookbook -- they bought it when it first came out. They claim some of their favorite dishes have come out of this book. So I was thrilled to find it on Amazon. This is a great seller; the book arrived well packaged and in a timely fashion. Mine is the original publication (1978, 430 pages), so if you're looking for it, I'm told this one is the best.

Love this cookbook!
I really love this cook book. I had it in the past. I kind of wish I had gotten the spiral bound, but for the price, this version is great!

printed in China - Ink Odor
Opened the book on arrival and the VOC ink odor hit me right away. I looked and sure enough it was printed in China. Pretty sad for a charity cookbook out of Denver. You would think they would support the local economy. I always try and purchase books printed in USA, Canada, EU and avoid books printed in China specifically for the low quality inks & papers that emit VOCs. I emailed charity with a comment but they did not even reply.
