Awsome product for the price, 15 minutes out of the box i was stacking dimes in 1/8th aluminum plate, wish this had a two stage trigger instead of just the single so you could flood the area with gas befor you strike a arc, it dose however have the gas on a 3 second timer after you release the trigger so you can just barrly bump and release it, wait two seconds, pull the trigger and start welding. Im used to welding with15k millers, this isint a miller but its great for the extream hobbyest who isint going to mass produce. I plan of building a 30 ft aluminum boat with this and am fairly confident it will do the job.

*BEWARE*Past the 90 day return window you will receive no warranty. Both manufacture AND Amazon agree it's a defect but neither offer warranty repair solution and state they cannot help. Even worse you cannot get any replacement part. Not worth saving a few hundred to have over $1,000 in accessories that are useless to all other welders except your broken one.

This is my second MIG welder. The first was a used Hobart 120 that I got cheap and learned how to weld. The LOTUS MIG 180 is awesome. I am blown away by the power and setting ability of this welder. Not to even mention the value you get when buying this welder. Included spool gun, 180A welder, quality of the welder. The only downside so far is the included welding mask is almost a toy; however, I would guess anyone spending $400+ on a welder already has their preferred welding helmet/goggles.The welder was delivered quickly and packaged/boxed well.A+ quality; A++ included accessories; A+++ welds, Great for intermediate to beginners who want to MIG weld stainless, Mild steel, or thin aluminum with spool gun (I have found ways to weld thicker aluminum with the standard MIG gun.This was the best priced MIG 180 on the market that I found, Sept 2018. I would recommend this welder to anyone needing something more than the standard 100-140amp MIG welder.

I am a professional welder. I bought it so I did not need to switch over my miller ever time I need the spool gun. I have been surprised at how well it works. I m using it more often than I thought I would. I put .023 wire in it and wow. not the power of my Miller but on small jobs the gun feels good easy to use. Great welder for the bigger or for a seasoned welder wanting a small welder for overflow work. iput a pic of its mig weld I did not have one of the spool gun but it works nice. it does stick tips often. I bought a 25pack and just keep throughing new ones at it. the time I save more than makes up for the cost.

For a 175amp unit at this price-point delivered, you would be crazy not to buy it. It's no frills, for sure but the MIG gun and Spool guns are excellent entry-level units. I'm welding(with gas)just as well as my $5k welders at work. Sure, simple hrs/crs materials at 11ga to 1/4" thick aren't a challenge to modern equipment but for the home hobbyist? This is a REAL value.My ONLY negative is the packaging. My unit did arrive with a good ding on one side and the BOTTOM tray that the power supply is mounting on was deformed!! Obviously the power supply is the heaviest object in the unit and due to VERY POOR packaging it bent the bottom of the unit when dropped during shipping. I put some "feet" under it so the bow in the bottom wouldn't contact my MIG Cart. ATTENTION LOTOS::: take out the junk welding mask to offset the cost and put some foam around the bottom of the unit!! Otherwise, very satisfied!!

I'm no welder by any means. But I've been able to mig weld in the past. Got this one and was able to lay a nice bead down for testing. The spool gun seems to work fine too, I have trouble melting the tips but then I only tried it for a few min and never tried aluminum before. 6 months later I finally had a need for it and it worked every bit as good as I'm able to weld. The stupid bottles cost as much as the welder FYI.Great addition to my home workshop.

Spoil guns cheaper the Hobart but works al in all for the $$$ I would but this one over the rest, works great and does what it should I weld my tow truck aluminum bed with it and has not failed me yet! Highly recommend for the at home or even small shop user!

I was extremely impressed with the quality of this welder for the price. I used it on my shifter kart build, and it worked perfect. Everything from 1/32 to 3/8 steel. I have yet to use the aluminum spool gun, but I’ll leave a review once I have. I plan on building an aluminum flat bottom boat in the near future.
