Some of these reviews surprise me. This Sotsu display is a knockout!
For courseware/video app/screen recording I need a true 1080p portable display monitor. I own the Sotsu 14 and 16 display monitors and have always been happy with them. The image brightness, thinness, and compatibility testing is first rate (not to mention the built-in stand/case). Came right up on both MacBook Air and a Lenovo Windows laptop: defaulted to 1080p (yea!) with USB-C. Instead of mirroring the built-in laptop screen, I set it to extended mode (display 2), and it works perfectly. I saw no color bleed or lag (latency). It may be more pricey, but I don't want to buy something to save a few bucks when I'd rather get something that always works and will last. I'm now set and more than satisfied with this purchase. (And, yes, I bought it through Amazon. Fast delivery.)

Great!
Works great! As advertised. I have taken this in a few business trips and it is great for getting that extra productivity space on the road.

Can’t use this on Samsung Galaxy devices that don’t support Samsung Dex
The bad news: I was so excited to use this portable monitor with my Android phone to have a nice big screen to look at. When I got it, I connected my phone to the monitor and it turned on, but said “No Signal”. After looking all over my phone for some kind of setting and then searching the internet, I find out that my particular phone, a Samsung Galaxy A52, does not support an app called “Samsung DEX”, which is what you need to make this work. So I can't use this portable monitor with my phone. So bummed. I can’t use it with my Amazon Fire Tablet either. More bummed. I can’t even use it with my old iPad that doesn’t have a USB-C port. Crazy bummed. I wish there was some way to Bluetooth to it, but alas… The good news: Then I connected it to my laptop. Success! I was able to both duplicate and extend my laptop screen onto the portable monitor. But that’s not really what I got this for. The portable monitor screen is even smaller than my laptop screen, so it’s not really an advantage to me (like it would have been with my phone), other than having a second screen to use as an extended desktop. The review: Connectivity issues aside, it is a nice portable monitor. Arrives in a super protective package that is gift-level quality. Small, super slim, and lightweight. Has a thin, smooth, light gray magnetic cover that folds and doubles as a stand. No ON/OFF switch, no buttons, no touchscreen, no controls at all. Just has a cable with a USB-C on each end to connect it to a power & data source, like a phone, tablet, or computer (if you have the right kind). Beautiful, bright, crisp, full-color screen. Although when my laptop screen was duplicated/extended, the image did not fill up the entire portable monitor screen, it was smaller. Has no speakers. As nice as it is, I feel it is very overpriced.

Fun monitor
I recently picked up the SOTSU UltraSlim 12.5" Portable Monitor, and it's been a total game-changer for my on-the-go work setup. I was a little worried about adding another device to my bag, but this thing is so incredibly thin and light, I barely even notice it's there. The screen itself is sharp and the colors look great. I use it for everything from extending my laptop screen for multitasking to hooking up my phone for a bigger display when I'm just browsing or watching videos. The single USB-C connection is a huge plus—no fumbling with a bunch of cables or a separate power brick. It just works. The magnetic cover is a smart touch, too. It protects the screen and folds into a really sturdy stand. It's not the cheapest portable monitor out there, but for the quality, convenience, and how much it boosts my productivity, I think it's definitely worth it. I'd highly recommend it for anyone who needs a reliable second screen for traveling or working from a coffee shop.

Premium build, razor thin, but fails short in a big way
no brightness adjustment, poor LCD quality (had backlight leak) Although it’s construction is premium and it’s ultra slim as advertised, the lack of any sort of screen controls (brightness, contrast, etc) just makes it not worth it

SOTSU UltraSlim 12.5" Portable Monitor – The Thinnest Travel Display
Is good to use my Samsung s25 with for dexs But to use my laptop it didn't work like it's supposed to The product is very slim lightweight I'm with amazing book cover and a picture quality look decent for Hd 1080. If they can fix the glitch from connecting to a laptop then I truly believe this can be the ultimate productivity small compact 12.5 in monitor.

Super Thin, Low Power, Simple
Very thin 12.5 in. FHD portable monitor, includes a 36 in. USB C right angle to USB C straight connector cable and instructions. The display came well protected in a premium package. Excellent image quality, but heavier than I expected a 1.72 lbs. with the case. The biggest negative is the large area below the display and somewhat large borders on the screen. The display panel is very thin at 4.5mm. The display and case for the model I ordered is blue. The cable includes a rip tie, but any functional USB C cable could be used. The case folds easily to provide a stand and the magnetic connection between the case and the display is very solid. The low power requirements make the display easy to drive with a phone or tablet. There are no controls on the display which has a single USB C port for signal and power. Not quite as unique as I thought it might be, but an interesting device nonetheless.

Incredibly light and thin - high quality display
I was looking for a simple external monitor to use with my work laptop (primarily) when traveling. This is amazing! Highlights: - incredibly light and skinny - Just works plugging into USB-C port - Starts rapidly - Really high quality picture, great for watching movies on a second screen (better than my Lenovo X1 screen) - Cannot adjust brightness - it's a bit bright for dark night-time, but colors really pop and has good contrast - no speakers, but then again I have headphones and laptop speakers, so really did not want them for extra weight - convenient folding case that lifts it at just right height. Big fan of this model - it's smaller/lighter than my iPad and it's now part of my permanent work/personal travel collection.
