I'm pleasantly surprised by the quality of these dies. Flawless machining. They appear to match the quality of Redding bushing / micrometer dies at a fraction of the price. I appreciate that Hornady includes a few extra decapping pins, a VLD and regular seating stem, and a nice tapered expander (for those that want to use it). The only things missing are the bushing and shellholder. The included decapping pins are for regular brass and they are too large for Lapua brass with the smaller .059" flash holes. FWIW - Redding will send you a free set of small diameter pins while Hornady wants to sell them to you...oh well. A few minutes with the decapping pin in a drill against sandpaper and I had it ground down to fit. I loaded up a few rounds with Lapua 123gr Scenar bullets and factory fresh Lapua 6.5 Creedmoor small rifle primer brass. Runout at the ogive was .001"-.002". After playing with both seating stems, I was seating bullets to +/1 .001". This is phenomenal! Trick: The seating stems are not marked. Take a non-VLD bullet and spin it in the stem by hand a few times. This will create some marks on the bullet surface. The stem that produces marks closer to the tip of the bullet is the VLD stem. The other is for regular bullets.

These dies upgraded my reloading and my accuracy results. My round to round consistency made my 100 yard groups sub MOA. I resized the neck just at .245 then the internal neck bumped back open. The micro seating tool made consistent OAL easy.

I wanted to get into reloading 308 Winchester for 1,000 yard accuracy. This die set has proven to be the best investment of my reloading journey so far. Yes, having to buy neck-sizing bushings raises cost, but it is incredibly valuable to be able to size the neck for precise bullet tension. I will say this. The seater die is incredibly tall, so if you use a coaxial press with an overhead handle, consider your clearance before buying. This die barely fits on my Franklin Arsenal Coax press. Barely. But it does, and the results are outstanding.

These really get your seating dept just right. They are allow you to change and set the neck tension on how loose or tight the neck holds your bullets. Different types of bullets having different shapes need different neck tension. These dies have a little ring with sits inside and controls exact neck tension rather than just assuming proper tension.

This is a phenomenal die set I bought it for the seating die with the micrometer and I get very consistent results with my reloads now! I couldnt give it the full 5 stars simply due to lack of instructions and the numbers on the micrometer not really meaning anything they arent a measurement however, they do make is very easy to get very accurate and repeatable seating depths.

Good quality product, everything works as it should, only gripe, there were supposed to be 2 6.5mm bushes but I only got one.

It wont press the cases to the right size, , I have over 15 years of experience in reloading, all my neck sizes are same as before pressing them. which means they didnt cut it in a proper size.
