The flying selfie stick is fun and easy to use
Oh, what a lovely little drone this is. I recently took the Hover Air X1 with me on a bicycle tour across Florida (around 800 miles over 3 weeks). Super light weight, compact size makes it an ideal drone for bicycle touring. And the pre-programmed modes are awesome for someone like me who is new to drones and didn't want to climb the learning curve, so to speak. I frequently used "hover", "follow me", "dolly track", and other (pre-programmed) modes to capture content I wanted to share with friends, family, and other bicycle tour enthusiasts. And once I discovered I could also manually control flights using the Hover app, I was thrilled by what I could do with this drone. I also really loved the simple and easy to use "land" mode. I always enjoy just holding my hand under the drone and letting it land on my palm. How cool is that?! As per the specifications, this drone is not suited to situations with high wind or rain as some other (higher priced) drones can do, but for me that was a non-issue as I didn't want to capture content in those conditions. It also is not fast enough to keep pace with a bicycle at speed (e.g. > 10 mph) but, again, I was not expecting it to. What I did was ride slower when taking action shots so that the drone would be able to keep pace (follow me mode), or I would plan the shot to fit within the drone's capabilities (bird's eye mode, hover mode with a drive by, manual mode with the phone affixed via quad lock to the bicycle so I could operate the controls whilst riding). It is a very flexible drone with lots of potential for getting great shots. It is also very robust. The plastic cage surrounding the rotors ensures that crashes (yes, I had a couple) don't damage the rotors, the gimble + camera(s), or the main body of the drone. I also really liked having two batteries so I could fast swap while on the road. The battery life met my expectations but for those seeking longer flights this might not be the best option - I was getting 10-15 mins of flying time in temperatures ranging from 50's to 60's Fahrenheit, and also dependent on the wind conditions. Besides all that, it's just fun to use. Although not recommended by Hover, I often would fly the drone indoors to show-off its merits to people who were curious to see what the drone could do.

A flying selfie camera for new vbloggers & recreational users
Product Review for Amazon- HoverAir x1 white. I am a new travel blogger and content creator. I am looking for a device that allows me to take drone-like images/videos, hand-free selfies, and fancy cinematic shots without using a DLSR Camera or a powerful lens. I wasn’t sure about owning a drone as it is expensive and requires learning time. So, I opted for HoverAir x1 as my entry-level - flying selfie camera/drone. I have been using it for more than a month. Here is my feedback. What I love about this product: It is small and light. It can fit into the pocket of my yoga pants, the side of my backpack, and even my Chanel handbag. The learning curve is not steep. You can get the concept after a few trials. I like that it has a Storage Management system to keep all the shots I took; it allows me to view them before downloading them to my phone. The Flight Mode fulfills most of my needs as a new travel blogger and digital content creator. There is Hover, which allows the device to hover while I am doing something like tying my shoelace, Zoom Out, which is great for establishing shots and also for group photos, Orbit, Bird’s Eye, Dolly, and more. They are enough to keep me busy and put together an excellent 30-second video on Instagram. What is just ok about this product Microphone … it is ok. I tried using my microphone … but it didn’t sound great. So I use voice over mic via 3rd party app to edit my footage. Aerial View … I was hoping it could capture more surface, but then I realized it could fly up to 50 feet high. Battery … It needs a recharge after about ten takes when I use the camera for both taking footage and viewing what I took. I could have taken more if I hadn’t viewed the shots I took. Because this camera is light, it doesn’t do so well on windy days. It doesn't have the sensor system like a typical drone, so you can fly this in less crowded places and when the area is clear from cables, branhes, bushes etc. What can be bothersome about this product `1. It is noisy and loud. Not too lound but loud enough when I am out at 5 am to take shots or in a quiet area. Despite my complaints, I’ve gotten used to this flying camera and love it. It is not a perfect drone-like camera, but it is perfect enough for me to get footage to put on social media. It is definitely not for professionals who need a robust drone camera, but it is suitable for beginners as well as DIY digital content creators who do not want to spend a dime on cameras and drones for their social posts. Should you get it? I say yes if you are happy to be a non-professional videographer like I am.

Easy to use, straight out of box. E for everyone!
FIrst impressions - Upon opening the box, the sleek design and coloring gave me confidence in its quality. Drone kit came with an extra battery + battery charging station, which is fantastic, essentially ensuring non-stop flight time. The instructions were idiot-proof; I was able to get the drone up and running as soon as it was done charging. My first flight had a small issue because I was unable to contain my excitement like a kid on xmas morning, resulting in a battery pack not completely charged. When I ACTUALLY followed the instructions, this worked great. One battery pack will allow about 15 mins in flight time and as I mentioned earlier, the charging dock will charge a secondary battery within that time frame. Drone has multiple AI modes for different situations. I admit I was running the drone indoors (the instructions do recommend going outside) that created some limitations. Favorite modes: Orbit Mode - drone circles around you within a 5 ft radius. Follow Mode - self explantory, drone follows you around (this freaked my dog out lol) Birds-eye mode - this one requires a 16 ft empty space above. the video I uploaded is from this mode. and best for my last MANUAL MODE!!!! Once I figured out how to access the manual controls (through the app on your phone), this was incredibly easy to use. I have flown different drones in the past with controls that were clunky and difficult to use for beginners. The manual controls on this one are again idiot-proof for someone like me. Super manageable to learn which I greatly appreciated. (screenshot of the Manual controls in review) Editor's note: my cat tried to attack the drone in mid-air, beware the jumps on kitties! All in all, I think this is a great product, especially for older kids as well. It's overall utility is astounding - my friend was thinking about using it to take shots of certain hard-to-get-to areas of properties he manages. I highly recommend this product for anyone!

Great product
So far so good. Very easy to operate and I LOVE the features.., especially the follow me mode. It avoids most obstacles and etc. Cons: It has a short run time... I can only get about 10-12 mins tops.

Hover X1 Review: Your Personal Flying Photographer
I purchased the Hover X1 drone recently and have been testing it out over the last week or so, and let me tell you, it's a game-changer for capturing those perfect moments from unique angles. Whether you're a seasoned tech enthusiast or a casual user, this drone delivers impressive results with a bit of practice. Pros: Stunning visuals: The Hover X1 produces remarkably sharp photos and videos. The clarity and detail are exceptional, especially considering the drone's compact size. Portability: The included bag is a lifesaver, making it super easy to take the drone wherever you go. Battery life: While not the longest on the market, the included dual batteries (if you opt for the bundle) provide a reasonable flight time for most casual uses. Seamless file transfer: Getting your footage onto your phone is a breeze, allowing for quick sharing and editing. User-friendly interface: The app and drone controls are intuitive and easy to grasp, especially for those with some tech experience. App Stability: Their iOS app seems to be pretty stable. I haven't had any issues with it so far. Cons: Learning curve: The setup and initial learning curve can be a bit steep for those who aren't tech-savvy. I recommend watching some of the helpful tutorials on YouTube before your first flight. Limited battery life: If you plan on extensive use, consider purchasing an additional battery to extend your flight time. Data transfer: Transferring files to a computer for editing can be a bit clunky, but there are online resources available to guide you through the process. Overall Impression: Despite a few minor hiccups, the Hover X1 is an incredible tool for capturing stunning aerial footage. It's like having your own personal flying photographer, always ready to capture the perfect shot. Tips & Tricks: Editing: I highly recommend CapCut (free or pro version) for editing your videos. It's easy to use and offers a wide range of features. Sound: If you want sound in your videos, be aware that the drone doesn't record audio. You'll need to use your phone's microphone, which can be a bit tricky. Final Verdict: If you're willing to invest a bit of time learning the ropes, the Hover X1 is well worth the investment. It's an amazing device that opens up a world of creative possibilities for capturing memories from new heights.

Amazing find
I’ve tried multiple drones and struggled with all of them—until this one. The hover is perfect, it’s unbelievably easy to operate, and the follow-me feature works flawlessly. Total game-changer.

Great personal "Camera Man"!
UPDATE: App Crashing issue. Start the app first, then turn on the drone. Pro tip: Make sure the app fully finishes loading, then press power on drone. This is a great camera man that can follow you around, hover over your head, follow you, etc. Possibilities are endless. Pro's: *Takes great pictures and videos. *Easily stores in the supplied bag(if ordered). *Comes with two batteries and charger(If ordered the bundle) or similar. *Easily transfers videos to your person cellular device. *Interface is fairly easy for techies. *App is downloadable via iOS or Android. *Pictures are amazing as well as the videos(No sound, unless you indicate and uses your phone as sound via the app). Cons: *Could be quite difficult for average user to setup and understand. Bring up Youtube and take some of the tutorials there first. *Battery life is ok, but expect to buy one more battery if taking on trips and such. 15 minutes is average fly time, then the battery is toast. *App is the main problem on Android. Continuously crashes until it finally connects. Be sure to update the firmware frequently and update your app as well. iOS App works fine. I have seen this first hand on a friends Apple phone and does not crash. *Downloading to computer to edit photos or movies can be a bit cumbersome if you are not tech savvy as well. Again, please check YouTube or similar to figure out how to do this. Do not get frustrated. *Tech support is being reported bad by the manufacturer, but as of yet, I have not required that support. Final overall review: For me, I gave this rating as a 4 star for now due to the current Android app issue, but overall, this drone is perfect as a "camera man"; your personal movie producer and snapshot person. I use CapCut(Free) or purchased as Pro. This is perfect to edit videos and such. Keep in mind, the videos are absent of sound, unless you choose to record sound from your phone, if so, you need to keep the phone nearby. It does cut out the sound of the drone blades too. In closing: If you are up to a little work and take the steps I did to research, it is worth the weight it's weight in gold to have one of these! You will be very happy to have such incredible shots/videos to save for years and years. Thank you for reading.

Hoverairx1
The HOVERAir X1 is a fantastic gadget if your primary goal is to capture yourself in motion — like walking, biking, vlogging — without having to micromanage a drone. Its strengths lie in ease of use, portability, and hands-free shooting. However, it’s not a “prosumer” drone. Don’t expect long flight time, advanced controls, or perfect shots in windy or complex environments. If you fly within its limits, it can be a fun and useful tool — especially for social media content.
