Vintage Short Sleeve V-Neck Swing Dress with Belt

The dress is lovely and fits in a really beautiful way. If you have a smaller bust I don't think it would fit you through the chest, but because I have a more generous bust and a smaller waist the silhouette is very flattering for me. The top of the dress is lined which I love, and without a petticoat, it falls a few inches below my knees. I did find that the dress ran a little large so I could have gone with an XS (or maybe my own measurements are incorrect), but since it fit pretty well thru the bust wearing the belt it comes with fixes the sizing issue. For reference, I'm a 32DD, 110lbs, and 5'3. The dress arrived extremely fast - and thank god because I waited until the last second to order.Also, I thought I would only use this for Halloween but it's not so blatantly vintage that it can't be used as an every-day dress or even a more formal dress in the springtime.

Beautifully sewn, fits like a glove on an hourglass figure as long as you follow the sizing chart and swallow your pride about buying multiple XXXX (it's Chinese sizing if that makes you feel better). Does need some light ironing, but less extremely wrinkle-prone than it could be given the cotton content, and just generally so nice to have an option friendly to plus sizes that's mostly cotton rather than run-of-the-mill domestic polyester. Also appreciate the length in the skirt--makes it to my knee (I'm 5'9"). Looks sleek on its own, but skirt has enough room to accommodate a crinoline for a more authentic vintage look. I'm not having the problem that the previous reviewer had with it riding up while dancing--I can easily get both arms over my head without it moving. Could be a sizing issue or different body types (I'm very broad-shouldered).

I tried to follow the size charts and other reviews to guess the correct size, but it wound up being too large for me. Fortunately I was able to shrink it and it fits perfectly. The back is lower than I expected, it's the same as the front, which isn't a problem but I wish there had been a picture of the back. My only complaints are that the fabric is kinda stiff and waist is cut a little weird for me, but I was able to fix that with a belt. Regardless, it's a pretty dress and a great value for the price.

I'm a 12, and I originally ordered according to the size chart (a 3x) but was shocked to find that I was positively swimming in it. However, I returned it and two sizes down did the trick. The quality of the dress and the material is amazing for the price, and it looks stunning on. Be warned though: if you're buying the largest size, don't fall in love with the belt. It's the same size as the belt for the next two sizes down, and definitely won't fit if you fill out the 3x.

My daughter ordered this as part of a costume, and chose it because it could be used long term as a “nice dress”. When it arrived, instead of the small black dress she ordered, it was a red 3xl. When I looked at it, someone had slapped a “black small” sticker over the clearly labeled “red 3xl” sticker from the Chinese manufacturer. When I looked at the dress it had nice fabric quality and stitching, so I suspect if it had been in the right size and color it would have been a hit.

This dress was a hit !! It fit perfect I ordered one size up to give myself a little breathing room and am glad I did.Used it for a 50's themed party and it was the talk.Everyone wanted to know where I purchased it.Beautiful lite flowy fabric .I ordered the ligt blue with white poka dots and used it eith a tulle skirt under for the effect of the 50's puffy look.Dress can be worn as a summer dress for romantic picnic or just because .I loved it.

I ordered this dress two sizes up and I am happy I did.( I'm 5'6 1/2, 175lbs, 38d chest) for reference the dress has some stretch to it but not much. I'm usually a size 12/14 dress and I got the 3xl. It fits a little big, I could go a size down but the 3lx fits perfectly enough so if i want to eat I won't burst out of it. And honestly i rather take in the dress then have to add too the dress. By far lovely and happy with my decision

I'm giving this dress four stars because it isn't the dress's fault that my upper body was too short for it. When I tried it on, I was really disappointed with the way it looked, and my husband pulled the shoulders up an inch or so, and then I could imagine that if I wasn't so short, it might have looked great. I'm 4'10" and usually don't have too much of a problem with dresses fitting because I am a little long waisted and short legged. However, for this dress it didn't work. I've returned it.The fabric was very nice. It isn't like the slinky fabric that you usually find in American stores. It's got some weight to it, and I like that because then the hang seems better. The belt was quite long for the dress. (I think it's possible that the same belt is used for small - large.)Also, NOTE that the cut of the dress is OFF THE SHOULDER so it won't work unless you wear it off the shoulder. It's hard to tell n the picture because there is no model wearing it, but when you try it on, you can see this right away.Again, I wish it had fit me. I've ordered several dresses from Amazon in the last few months, and this is the first one I've had to return. I think that it is the cut combined with the fact that I am short. I'm guessing that an off the shoulder cut doesn't forgive as much as dresses that go over the shoulder.
