This little portable air conditioner is a freaking workhorse!
I’ve tried I believe every portable air conditioner on the market! And I’m serious from cheaper ones to some of the more expensive dual hose models! This is the first time I have bought a Midea product!! This little air conditioner is a workhorse!!! so let me count the ways!! The hose snaps in, and all of the connectors snapped together the hose that goes to the unit slides into the back! There’s no screws no extra parts to deal with. There’s adequate parts to fit any window! I love the air vents on the front. I have had a lot of units that vent the cool air on the top and I was a little skeptical about having the vents on the front? But the air blows and is distributed nicely!! This device is a little freaking workhorse!! I highly highly highly recommend! Let me just say that I had been pretty partial to the Whynter dual hose air conditioner! The problem is they just don’t last very long/I can get maybe two good years out of a Whynter portable air conditioner!! I’m anxious to see how long my Midea will last but for the price, the ease of assembly, the cold, cool air! I can buy two and three of these for the price of one.

Very good AC
I was skeptical about portable air conditioners but I am happy I took the chance. I have a 2 floor, one zone townhouse with central ac. I needed something for the bedrooms upstairs, since to get cool enough on one zone its freezing and costly downstairs. I originally bought 2 of these, but returned 1. One does the job. It keeps the bedrooms with a hall and bathroom between them very comfortable. I use less of my central ac and have cooler bedrooms now! The only things I dont care for is it is noisier than expected, and with the vent out the window I could not close the blinds right. So I pull my room darkening blind to the floor over the vent and added 84"inch curtains over that to block out the light at night. I have not had to drain it yet. That will be a challenge since there is no floor drain on the 2nd floor, but I already have an idea where/how to drain it. Love the remote control. Overall very satisfied!

so far so good but with some flaws
Not sure on how long it will last but so far it performs well for a master bedroom on the 3rd floor. I love the app control so I can start it before I get home, nice and cold, small and lightweight compared to others I've had and it's not too loud. Cons: no way to control the output direction, it does seem to drain a little more water than others i've had but not a huge difference to be concerned.

Good portable a/c for small rooms.
I'm very happy with this unit. Upgraded from a 5k BTU GE portable unit. GE Unit worked fine but I wanted the new features. I use it in a spare bedroom that I use as a home office along with my gaming PC. It's a 15A circuit which means I needed to stay under certain power draw limits while running a 600w 5090 gaming PC with peripherals. Not your average circumstances but this thing draws less power, and is more efficient than the 4 year old GE it replaced, while not being a particularly power efficient air conditioner overall. I am seeing about 600w draw when it's on.The other features that work well are wifi, it connects just fine to my the app that my other A/C uses. Super nice to be able to come home from a work trip to a cold room and workspace. This also has auto/start stop, including during a power cut. The temp control works well - I run it at 70 in my small room and once the actual room temp hits 69, the a/c fan and compressor turns off until the temp exceeds 71 and proceeds to cool the room again. There is that 2 degree delta from on to off.I live in on the edge of a desert at 4.5k feet elevation so there isn't a need to hook up a drain to deal with the humidity.Lastly is the noise level. Last year i returned two different 5k portable a/c's because the fan was hitting something inside of the a/c and was awful noise wise. This Midea unit is acceptable for noise. I wouldn't call it quiet like the newer inverter portable a/c's, but it's acceptable, there is no fan noise other than the air being moved and compressor running.Good buy overall, especially when on sale.

I cant work...it uses CO2 instead of refigerant.
Well I made the purchase. I finally got to use it yesterday. Very very easy to install. Takes only a few minutes. You can save a lot of money and just buy a fan. That's really all it is. At first I was a little confused. I could hear the compressor turn on like you would a normal AC. And i suppose technically IT IS! Here is why. check it out yourself. Its doesn't use the regular gas for refrigeration. Instead it uses CO2. The Co2 gas will chill the air a bit in the condenser of the unit. But nowhere like a normal refrigerant in a regular air conditioner. So you get a small amount of (I hate to say cool) but cooler air. It was a waste of money. Its like taking a fan and blowing it over a pan of ice and praying. I am going to give it one star because it doesn't work close to an air conditioner. Its a small fan. You win some and you loose some. This is a looser.
