La Brea Bakery Artisan Sandwich Bread, Rustic Country White, 24 oz

This is really good bread! I order groceries from Amazon Fresh frequently, as I have a chronic illness, and am often to sick to leave the house to shop. Amazon Fresh doesn't carry my regular brand of bread (Roman Meal), so I started looking for a substitute. They were out of all of the whole grain and whole wheat varieties in La Brea Bakery brand, so I tried the white. It's delish!The slices seem to be a little thinner and a little wider than my usual brand. Plus,I don't go through bread that quickly, and it often gets moldy before I use it up. So I keep the loaf in the freezer, and take out slices as I need them. The slices seem to separate (sp?) easily whilst frozen, and I've used La Brea Bakery Artisan Sandwich Bread, Rustic Country White bread for sandwiches and french toast. Yummy!

I've purchased this bread (LaBrea Artisan Country White) twice, and both times the bread is stale and hardening around the edges with a slight discoloration. I understand the natural enzyme activity in this bread can cause this (plus the lack of preservatives used) , I just hoped it would be fresher off the shelf. I have bough this before myself (not thru Amazon Fresh) and I enjoyed it, especially for grilled cheese.

We use this bread for paninis so if it’s on the drier side, like some have said, we haven’t noticed. Grills up nice on the panini grill.

Even when I toast it to the minimum tan, it is still really dry. And I didn't find it particularly flavorful. I actually haven't been happy with any of the breads I've ordered on Prime Fresh but this is a particularly unpleasant one.
