Very nice-
The Lofti drying rack is great. It's lightweight, looks good, and doesn't take up floor space or need to be folded away somewhere when not in use. It really does provide a large amount of space for drying clothes. The only issue I ran into was assembly/installation. It's probably a two-person job if you aren't very handy. I did watch the video, the instructions are clear and easy to follow, and it took maybe twenty minutes to hang up.Why four stars instead of five:The problem I ran into was with putting the green connectors & poles together. In the video it shows the guy snapping them together no problem. My experience was different, I had to use a large rubber mallet to hammer them in. I tried dabbing a little dish soap on the connectors, my usual go-to for this type of job, but it wasn't a huge help. I'm of average strength, not elderly, and have no other issues that would prevent me from assembling something that was as easy to put together as the poles & connectors they use in the video. I don't know if the kit I had was defective, as one of the aluminum poles was missing the hole for the latching bit on the green connector, but since the connectors were hammered in I decided it wasn't going to be a problem. If this is what it typically takes to assemble the poles, connectors, and capping pieces on the ends they might want to tell you to have a rubber mallet on hand. It wasn't terribly hard to do, but if I hadn't had the mallet I might have just returned it rather than go purchase another tool to put it together.Otherwise it is a good investment. Having the cleat/rope tie on the wall might mean you could lower it & load it & raise it up if you have a hard time reaching overhead to hang up wet clothing or you need to pull it up really high to keep the drying clothes out of the way. We hung it up over our basement sink so any soaking wet items could drip right into the sink instead of on the floor! I've used it numerous times in the last couple of weeks and have not run in to any problems. I would recommend it to anyone with a caveat regarding putting the poles & connectors together.

poor product quality, great customer service
I ordered and assembled the Lofti. I didn't look at the internet instructions because the instructions were in the box. Only after struggling to get the Lofti together did I do a search on the internet, which lead me to learn that now the company suggests that you use oil on the ends on the poles and connectors to ease assembly. Annoying. Also, in that package, I was missing one of the aluminum bars, which they shipped to me at no cost after I called them.Well, that Lofti started cracking at one of the green connectors between aluminum bars. I called the company and they said that they were having some problems with the "old" production, had some newer ones coming in that were made with better materials/design, and would willingly sent me a new Lofti, although they wouldn't be available for shipping for a number of weeks. I said that was fine and could they ship me one when they were available. Fine. Well, 1-2 weeks later, I received a new Lofti. I was pleasantly surprised that it showed up earlier than expected. I put it together (this time with oil) easily and reinstalled it in my laundry room. Less than a week later, I noticed cracking at exactly the same spot that my first Lofti had cracked. 2 days later, another bar had cracked in the same spot. A few days after that, the third one cracked. So now I was hanging all my clothes on 2 rows only. I called the company and they were apologetic that they sent me the old model yet (mix up on their part for not waiting and sending me the "new" shipment). So I'm waiting for the new one to arrive. In the mean time, last night I heard a huge crash from up in our bedroom at around 2am. I send my husband downstairs to investigate. He found nothing. This morning on our way out the door (through the laundry room), I noticed a bunch of hangers on the floor and the Lofti completely cracked in half, with each half still hanging from the string on the ceiling. That was the crash. I'm annoyed, but hoping that I won't have any problems when I receive my new shipment of the improved Lofti. They asked me to send them a picture of the damage, which I did. They also asked me to send the Lofti's back to them so that they could get a refund from their manufacturer. Nothing was mentioned about them sending me a mailing/UPS label, so hopefully they'll be amenable when I ask them. I don't think I should have to pay for shipping their defective product back to them (especially since the thing in HUGE and I can't take it apart)

Nix the clumsy, unstable apartment drying rack
I live in a bungalow-style apartment, so I have access to outside spaces. I prefer to line dry my clothes. I have standing drying racks, but they are clumsy and, when used outside, easily fall over when there is a gust of wind or heavy breeze. Loving to watch British mysteries, I noticed the pulley drying racks in older British kitchens. I went in search of one, but the sizes were huge and the prices were exorbitant. LOFTi is perfect in size and reasonable in price. Installation was easy. It fits away up under the eave of my small apartment porch when not in use, then slides down for laundry day. I am in heaven as nothing is nicer than the fresh smell of line dried laundry.

Great Birthday Gift for the Wife
The LOFTi is a unique solution that seems to be a solid performer so far. I bought this for my wife's birthday as she wanted something to replace her traditional clothes drying rack that was falling apart. The parts that came were packaged well and seemed to be of quality material. Time will tell on how they hold up. The install was fairly easy, but I'll add the instructions for the roping of the device could be a little more specific. In the end we figured it out and it took around an hour from start to finish to get it assembled and hung. She's used it a couple times and hung quite a few things on it. So far it's held up with no bending. We do have a high efficiency washer so it spins quite a bit of the water out already so the clothes aren't super heavy. She likes it and it has opened up floor space that before wasn't available.
