This blanket has been a lifesaver! It’s completely waterproof. I tested it by pouring a glass of water on the beige fuzzy side. The water pools on top, then sinks in, but does not permeate through the rubber and get through to the red side. It was just what we needed for our senior Great Dane while we got her on medication for incontinence due to a weak bladder sphincter. She would leak while she slept, sometimes very large puddles. The blanket was so useful to be able to let her up on the couch during the day while making sure any possible leaks would not reach the couch. Now that she’s on medicine and no longer leaking at all, we still use this blanket on the couch because she loves it so much. I suspect the fuzzy side is reminiscent of a mama dog. We wrap her up in this when it’s cold and she falls asleep literally within seconds. The blanket is like a combo between a fuzzy blanket and a weighted blanket of comfort, due to the heavier rubber in the middle. Washing: this washed fine in an LG Tromm washer and dryer. I washed it on delicate with plenty of soap and extra rinse. To dry, I put it on the lowest temperature setting on very low tumble and ran it a few times until it was dry. The fuzz did not clump together as some have reported. I hope this is the case for future washes. The trick might be getting it as dry as possible with the right temperature without affecting the rubber, and reducing the number of times it tumbles to prevent matting. Even then, it may be possible to brush over the fluff when it’s done. Scent: there was a chemical scent until I washed it once. I recommend washing it first because dogs have such sensitive noses.

Excellent blanket for pets! It’s soft and cozy on one side, waterproof on the other, and large enough to cover the couch or bed. Washes well and really protects furniture from accidents. Our boys love the material and with a brand new sofa, there are no worries

So far so good in terms of waterproof-ness! We bought two before heading out to a cabin we rented. We figured the dogs would be swimming and would try to get up on the furniture (like they do at home) and didn’t want the furniture to get wet or dirty. The blankets worked great for that! We also have an older dog that has some bladder leakage issues: she had an accident in the back of the car on the way up and the blanket both absorbed it and blocked it from leaking through. I suspect that user reviews that state that these blankets are not waterproof might be having issues with the way the blankets are layered and this is the one small complaint I have about them: The two main layers are only connected along the edges (i.e., they are not sewn together in the middle of the blanket) and, consequently, the two layers will slide over each other. This means that the fluffy side might end up separated from the checked side (which is where the waterproof layer is, I think). It’s not a huge deal, but it would be better if they were sewn together in a few places (instead of only along the sides) so that the two layers always moved as a single unit. Hopefully my description makes sense! We didn’t find this issue to be a deal-breaker, though, and would definitely recommend the blankets! We will probably order a couple more to protect all the beds and furniture from our water-loving dogs (who take themselves for a swim several times a day) at our own cabin back home. The blankets are nice and soft in the fluffy side - our dogs love them!

We have now purchased five of these blankets in various sizes. We have an 8 month old German Shepherd Pup who loves to chew through EVERYTHING. He has destroyed all of the thick dog beds we've gotten for him, but he hasn't eaten through these. He loves to lay on them wherever they are. They're also really soft, warm and cozy, but incredibly durable. We put two different sized ones on my overstuffed beige chair and ottoman which is the first place he goes when he comes in from the wet and muddy outdoors, and they have done an amazing job protecting the furniture, so I don't have to chase him around the house or get my hands nibbled off trying to dry his feet with a towel. They do start to smell like wet dog after a while, but we just throw them in the wash and they come out great. They've lost a little of the "soft" but they're so soft to begin with, that it's to be expected. Regardless, they are soooo much better and cheaper than ruining the furniture. We even bought one as a gift for my parents new puppy and they absolutely love it.

I bought this for my dog because he has seizures and he pees and poops himself during his seizures. He sleeps on the bed with me and it got annoying having to wash my sheets and mattress protector all the time. So I got this for him and it really works amazingly well. Sometimes he pees a lot during a seizure and this blanket doesn’t fail. It never soaks through to the other side so the sheets and the bed remain dry. I do fold it in half though so it’s more protection and that is important. They work so well I bought two so that he has a back up after the other one gets peed on. I take them to the laundry mat to wash them. If you have a hairy dog that always sheds, the blanket will get covered in hair and it’s not easy to get off. I take a bristle attachment from my vacuum in my hand and run it across the blanket and the static helps get a lot of it off. It’s a high quality blanket and my dog loves it because it’s comfy and he has come to know that this blanket is his and it is where he lays. He has really enjoyed it and it has saved my bed

This cover is excellent for absorbing liquid. Its perfect to keep fluids off of your bed. The material is soft, comfy and easy to clean in the washer. The price is fantastic for how nice it is.

I was dubious about this blanket, given the mixed reviews. But we've had it about 9 months now, it's been washed and dried countless times and it still does its job. Is a great size and looks good too!

The plush side holds a bit of liquid if soiled heavily. Overall, the waterproof blanket is a success.

I have 3 of these! Bought a big one for the car and 2 for my puppy just to lay around on. The non fluffy side is the waterproof part and it has worked so well with my puppy when she’s have accidents. The fluffy part is so soft! Washing it is easy. I throw it in the dryer plus hang dry for 24 hours.

It is definitely waterproof and is a good size, enough to cover the queen bed with an incontinent yellow lab!

Does exactly what it says it does. Great waterproof protection for the bed. Keeps pet hair off the bed. And, it looks great. Very happy, bought a second for our other bedroom. Washes really well on a hand wash/ wool setting.
