ACANA Wholesome Grains Dry Dog Food Large Breed Adult Recipe is my dog’s new favorite food. My 10 year old mixed breed dog has done so well on this food! I love that this recipe features fresh and raw ingredients animal ingredients with wholesome grains. It was easy to transition my dog to this food. He really seems to love the flavors. It makes me feel good to know that we are feeding him such a high quality food.

I wanted to leave a review because my experience with Acana ended up being pretty rough for my dog. After switching to it, he started acting uncomfortable after meals. Pacing, restless, and always going to the back door right after eating, which I now realize was stomach pain. Thought he was just being annoying and wanted to play ball. His stools got harder and he would strain, and a few months later he ended up developing bloat and needing emergency surgery. His recent bloodwork also showed high eosinophils, which points to GI inflammation or a food intolerance. Once we looked back at the timeline, everything lined up with when he started this food. Every dog is different, but for mine, Acana was way too rich and caused ongoing stomach issues that eventually turned extremely serious. Like my dog would have been dead if I didn’t rush to the ER. I’m sharing this so others can watch for early signs and avoid what we went through.

My Shepard loves this food dry or mixed up. Shes super healthy and her coat is awesome. The size for a bigger dog is great and its a great price for the quality of the food.

Kaiser, our German Shepard, has been on Acana since day one with us. From age seven weeks old to present (2 yrs old) he has not had any issues with Large Breed Puppy and then transitioned over to Large Breed Adult. His stools are solid, and he has no digestive issues. Kai's coat is shiny and super soft due to his diet of Acana. We cannot recommend this Acana enough.
