Good-looking smart switch holding promise to work well
Previously, I was using another brand of internet-controlled socket, and found it often lost contact with my WiFi, so that I was not able to turn ON/OFF away from home. Also, that device only allowed configuration, such as setting timer schedules, to be done with the contolling phone connected to the home WiFi. With this WiFi Smart wall switch, I am pleased to find that the App "Smart Life" allows me to do configuration even with the phone not connected to the WiFi. I will be watching closely the reliability of the pairing of the switch with the WiFi when such incidents as power cuts cause my WiFi router to reboot, but other reviews give me hope that it will be good. For installation of the switch, I have one reservation, which made me score only 4 stars. The glass front panel hides the mounting screws, so you have to prise off the panel to fix the switch into its pattress. But in this state, the delicate electronics are partly exposed, giving a risk of accidental damage if your screw-driver slips. Also, it is possible to tighten the fixing screws too far, so that the switch body sinks too deep. Trial and error is necessary to get the screws just tight enough that the switch is firmly fixed with the panel clicked back on. Like other reviewers, I have to emphasise that you must have a neutral wire available, and you must use a pattress sufficiently deep (at least 35mm internal depth) to allow wires to fit around and behind the switch body.Final reservation: when the switch state is ON, it glows RED, when OFF, it shows BLUE. The App display, however, shows GREEN/BLUE respectively (more intuitive to me).

Good remote operation, not so good manual operation.
Overall, I can't say I'd recommend this product. When I use something as simple as a light switch then I expect it to work flawlessly and, unfortunately, this just doesn't.The switch was easy to install (I'm an electrician, neutral was present at switch & backbox was already of sufficient depth to accept the deeper than standard dimensions). Set up was simple using Google home via the Smart Life app & it has worked remotely, without issues, over the past few weeks it has been installed. Looks are a personal thing and I think they look quite smart. Now for the negative. Build quality is quite low, the relay sounds cheap & nasty when turning off the light (again, I'm an electrician and base my opinion against the many components I've dealt with over the years). Using the switch manually is a very hit & miss affair, I've seen myself having to touch/press it three or four times (rarely ever once) to get it to operate & the design also means has a nasty loose sound and feel when touched. To sum up, if you are looking for remote switching for lighting where you think you will rarely want/need to use the switch manually then this might be for you, otherwise, I'd look elsewhere. You might be thinking the whole idea is that you don't/shouldn't need to touch the switch but believe me (assuming you are able bodied), walking into a room empty handed & pressing a switch is easier, quicker & more automatic than asking for it to be turned on & waiting for the second or so it takes for the light to illuminate...it is however great switching said light from the comfort of your bed/sofa.

Bad instructions. Very bright blue light at night . Can't do what it says it can
The instructions are terrible. After many attempts I have finally got it connected to my WiFi by reading the feed back of others . So how did I do it first turn the light on, then hold the button in the light goes off keep holding it in for about 20 to 30 secs light should start to flash then go to the WiFi connection on your phone etc and connect to your 2g network this switch will not work any higher than 2g then go open the smart life app and add device by touching the + sign at the top right hand corner select the wall switch icon just a plain wall switch follow the instructions have your WiFi password ready and hopefully like me it finally connects. The blue light at night is so bright it illuminate the whole room not what you want when trying to sleep . The construction of the unit is good and it looks good pity it takes so long to work out how to connect it

Doesn’t support WPA2 encryption protocol for your WIFI.
Pros-Very nice design, clean look and not to bright led light on the panel, cheap, quick deliveryCons- does not support 5ghz routers, loud click from build in relay, need neutral wire, poor manual. For those who can’t make it connected:To reset press button for about 10sec and after hearing click led light should start blink fast. Go to app and add new device. If you still can’t make it work (I couldn’t) go to your router settings and change encryption to WPA ( weaker security unfortunately)I have many smart devices at home and they all work fine with WPA2 and oy because of this one I had to change router settings to old WPA. For the moment it is working fine but I’ll be looking to upgrade it very soon to some better switch. In overal good value for money but still plenty to improve

Well made but didn't fit in my existing light switch.
The unit is well made but before you buy it, make sure the existing light switch has deep back plate (pattress). In my case I had to replace my existing one with a 40mm deep pattress. A fiddly job if you are not a DIY person or if you are not comfortable with the electrical work. There were no instructions on how to lift off the front touch plate. At one point I thought the plate will break. However once fitted, it looks quite neat. Setting it up was easy but it doesn't work with Google Home. There are no instructions on how to do it. The inclusion of Scenes in the Smart Life app is practically useless. It has options like creating Scenes for Dusk but then you can't set how many hours after dusk the light should stay on. Bit limited in its use. I only use it as a timer - start time and end time, which works well. But then I only had it for one day so far. Finally, I wish the instructions were not written in font size 7 and in light grey. Very hard to read it.
