Lock feature may be the fix for my problems.
Works flawlessly..This is my second purchase of an HDMI switch, The first was useless as it kept randomly blanking out and occasionally locking up. I tried new cables and cleaning the contacts to no avail. I thought it may be the autoswitch feature causing the problem as I had 2 other inputs that were "live" So this one with its lock feature seemed to be the next step. This unit has performed flawlessly since I got it. It was known by my Harmony hub so was easy to set up on that and I have programmed it to select the input and then lock it. It also has an OFF feature which can be useful. I have had no problems at all with this switch and can recommend it.

Really shines with auto switch feature
I have used HDMI switches before and I've never liked them. They're a lesser of two evils as far as I'm concerned; not enough HDMI ports, too lazy to switch the cables manually, an extra (inevitably small and soon to be lost) controller to manage, etc etc. I have never enjoyed using one before and have never bragged about the functionality of one to my friends and coworkers... Until now.We recently purchased a sharp 55" TV that only has 3 HDMI inputs. I have a lot of devices that previously I would leave unplugged or switch back and forth with our old TV, and that had 4 inputs. With only 3 on our new one I caved and bought this device and it's incredible. The description doesn't do the auto switch feature justice. Right now I have a raspberry pi Kodi box plugged in (always on), a Nintendo switch, and a raspberry pi retropie (turn on and off) connected to this device. The auto switch feature will automatically return to whatever input is active (in this case the Kodi box) if all of the other devices are inactivated. If a new device becomes active, the HDMI switch will automatically switch to it, then return Kodi when the activated device inactivates. Auto switch feature on television sets through HDMI handshakes are great, but this takes it to a next level. I get to have Kodi as my default home screen on this input, only to have it automatically change to videogames or whatever else I'm doing, then back to a Kodi home screen when I'm done, all without me having to touch a remote control. I could not be happier with this product.

Please make a hdmi 2.0 version of this exact switch
I have a projector that has only 2 hdmi ports, one of being ARC and my soundbar doesn't have any HDMI inputs. I use 2 devices, a chromecast with google tv and a gaming PC. I would just get a simple 3x switch for the non-ARC port, but that would mean I had to manually switch the picture mode settings in the projector menu from "game mode" (which I need for the lower input lag of the gaming PC) back to standard. That means I need a device that can connect both the video from the chromecast and use the ARC port function for the soundbar. This works perfectly for that! I connect my Chromecast to an input port, connect the soundbar to any other input port, then lock it onto the chromecast input. The only issues I have is I had to lower the color format on the chromecast from 4:2:2 to 4:2:0 on 4K 60hz. When it's on 4:2:2, the video gets static-y and audio pops. This is because this switch isn't rated for hdmi 2.0, but only 1.4. That being said, it is the best solution out there that I found so far for my use case. Other switches (some that cost 4x as much) usually don't support ARC passthrough. All the audio extractor versions I tried lose CEC function, which I need to use my TV remote on the Chromecast and to change volume on the soundbar with that same remote. One other switch, made by OREI has a dedicated ARC port, and was true hdmi 2.0 and cec worked well. The problem with the OREI was it required me to restart my chromecast every time I would turn the TV off then back on. It would just show "no signal" even though the chromecast was definitely on. This Lankstone switch never had those issues. It is ALMOST perfect. If they make the exact same one but with HDMI 2.0 I would buy it in a heartbeat. Also, one more bonus is it runs fine with no external power so I don't even need to plug that extra usb cable in. That OREI one wouldn't turn on without usb power even though it had 3 devices connected to it.

Poor product, even poorer service from Amazon
Ordered this product to add hdmi inputs to tv. Roku worked fine, but couldn't get the Nintendo Switch to broadcast. Just kept displaying as if nothing was plugged in. Requested a refund, received a refund and was then charged again. I have disputed with Amazon multiple times but they keep telling me they only charged me once. Funny.... That's not what my bank account says. Lesson learned, don't recommend this product.

The Source-Lock Function Keeps Other Sources From Popping Up Unexpectedly
I love this HDMI Switch! This is just what I needed and it works perfectly. I miscalculated on how many ports I really needed, but it does what I need it to do. If you are short on HDMI ports this is a must have. I love the Source-Lock feature! After reading several reviews on this and other HDMI switches, I was concerned about watching TV and then having my PS4 just unexpectedly turn on or vise versus, and this totally eliminates that from happening. All you have to do is click on the lock button on the remote and problem solved. I would definitely recommend this product.

OK. Works but could be better designed
These comments apply to the 5x1 version of the Lankstone 5x1 HDMI switch. The switch functions properly, but it could be better. As shown in the product photos, the switch has its power input jack and one HDMI port on its left side and another HDMI port on the right side. The other four ports are on the back. This obviously helped put the electronics in a smaller box, but it makes for a messy installation. It would be much better if all the ports were on the back. It would also make for a neater installation if they did not have a large "LANKSTONE" and other things printed prominently on the top of the switch box. If you want an installation that looks professional, this isn't for you.The remote control is better than most that come with HDMI switches, but it, too, could be improved. It has to be aimed fairly precisely at the switch box. This may be a function of the receiver being fairly well back from the front of the switch box, or perhaps the emitter on the remote is weak. The remote uses a CR2025 button battery. Maybe that's related to the problem. It would be much better if the remote were slightly larger and used AAA batteries.
