10/10 recommend
If you’re looking for comfortable underwear comparable to the mesh undies that the hospital gives you after birth, look no further. These are great postpartum whether you have a natural birth or a c section. They are very soft and don’t irritate my incision site. They also go well above my belly button so there’s no pressure on those tender ab muscles. There’s also no need for a belly band because these hold everything in. There is also full coverage on my booty. (How many times can I say “also” in one paragraph?) I’m 5 ft tall and weigh 145 lbs postpartum. Most of my weight is in my belly and thighs so I bought the size large and they fit very comfortably. These are pretty stretchy too. Now, 6 weeks later, I’ve lost a bit of weight in my belly and the undies still fit comfortably. After about 4 weeks of every day wear, some of them were fitting a bit snug around my thighs so I stopped putting them in the dryer and now they all fit fine.

Nicely made, not a lot of front support
I had a kidney transplant 24 days ago. (Thank you. Yes, I’m super happy and grateful!!) I was told my incision would be vertical and to the side of my belly button, but I guess my anatomy demanded differently. My incision is actually horizontal starting at the left side, running between my belly button and pubic bone, and curving up on the right side…about 10 inches across, like a crooked smiley face. 😏 The fact that it was so low made me think of a C-section and that’s why I went searching for C-section panties. I normally wear bikini underwear, but the elastic was hitting right on the incision. Plus, I was kind of hoping for a little support across the front of my belly to kind of “brace” the incision and make it hurt a little less. I saw some other C-section panties that boasted a firm support panel in the front, but it was made with either spandex or silicone. I figured that would be great support, but I was advised to let my incision “breathe” as much as possible, so I opted for the panties made from cotton. (I currently have to travel to the transplant center twice a week. Otherwise I’d just go around sans pants.) Anyway, these look exactly like the pictures. They are really big, lol, “granny panties” except that they fit well and aren’t droopy. But they are, indeed, high waisted. The waist line is nice and soft (the elastic is fully covered) and there is a three inch band across the top. The only problem is the band (which offers a little bit of support) is around the waist and not across the front, or anywhere near the pubic bone. What I’ve been doing is putting them on and then folding down the waistband so that I get a double layer of coverage and a bit of compression on my particular incision. I don’t think it would work for a C-section though. Still, they’re nicely made, very soft, and have a high waist if that’s what you want. They looked so big to me coming out of the package that I thought I’d ordered the wrong size. However, they fit me perfectly around the legs. I had my care partner wash them and dry them in the dryer and they did not shrink at all. I’m 5’4” 135 pounds. The site suggested I buy large and that’s what I got. I’d say they fit perfectly for the style.

great for c-section, not for kidney transplant
I had a c-section 26 years ago, these would have been great for that. However, I needed something comfortable while I healed from a kidney transplant. I know others have shopped for something for that too, so here is my review for that use: A kidney transplant scar is half moon shaped and runs diagonally from a few inches below the navel, over to the side, even with the navel. It's 10-12 inches long. For about 6 weeks, the wound is either glued together (if you are thin) or stapled, (if you are larger). I was glued and as the wound heals, the glue dries up, leaving a hard plastic like rope that underwear bands rub on. you're supposed to just leave it alone until it is very loose and rubs off easily in the shower. I have heard the staples are even more painful. Because of the shape of the scar, any underwear band will rub on it. Solution? I found a great one: low cut underwear with a wide soft band that sits low - about where a c-section scar is, and maternity jeans with a knit band top. I found a regular tee shirt was long enough to cover that band ( I'm 5'9" - most people will have no problem with this). You'll only need them for a couple months, unless your swelling lasts longer, so check out children's consignment stores for them, as they also get little wear during pregnancy. Otherwise, these underwear were very good quality and fit me very well - didn't ride up in the rear like 95% of underwear do, , and the fabric and band are soft and comfortable except on the wound and its glue.

Better Fit Postpartum
I ordered these about a month before my baby was born and tried to wear them while still very pregnant- not a super comfy fit. Nevertheless I brought a pair to wear home from the hospital, and I am so glad I did! Once my baby was born these fit perfectly and very comfortably. Plenty of coverage, and for me it feels like just the right amount of support for my belly as I recover from a c section. I read some other reviews saying these lack support below the waist- I didn’t have the same problem, but after my staples were removed, I was given some pads to put over the incision so maybe those helped supplement the support from the underwear. I’m honestly considering buying them again just to have more pairs. Highly recommend.

Watch out for shrinkage
These were great post surgery but after a few washes they shrunk n got especially super tight in my legs and it’s really uncomfortable if you jet def wash in cold water and air drive

I ordered up a size and still it was too small. The X-large is equivalent to an Australian size 10. It also was not high waisted like in the photo. I can't see how it is suitable after C-section since you will still have a bump afterwards and these panties did not come close to covering my belly button like in the photo. It just sat on my bump and slid down and sat where the excision would be. I would not recommend for C-section at all.
