Great product! Wish it had more info before buying.
Great product! It is exactly as advertised; however, I wish they had it advertised on Amazon that this life jacket is a Type III which means it is not meant to keep your head above water if you go unconscious (minus one star), also it is not meant for the open water or any rough water at all (minus another star). It fits exactly as it is supposed to! I've got a 37" chest, and the Medium is perfect! So, note to those interested, if you are planning on going on a boat in rough waters, get a different life jacket. However, if, like me, you are just kayaking and don't really care about knocking yourself unconscious, this one is great, especially with the four pockets!!!

Good PFD during Cooler Times of Year; Too Hot During Summer
I live in south Florida and bought this PFD to go fishing with my friend on his boat. I bought the PFD from Amazon, without personally seeing it or trying it on for size, feel, etc. At this time, they don't make it easy for you to figure out the size. The size "XL" is for 44-48 chest; I guess the manufacturer presumes a consumer will know that. Construction of the PFD appears to be good. The foam on the front has two layers, which makes it easier to wear; this is difficult to explain. Includes 4 pockets for your stuff. I put a signal mirror, whistle, and aerial flare in the top small pocket. It has eyelets, so I tied the mirror and whistle to the vest. The vest is fully adjustable and seems to fit well. The reflective material seems good. I bought it in December and its now June; 90 degrees on a typical day and the vest is hot to wear. The "best" PFD is the one you are wearing; this one is getting too hot to wear. I will be buying another Mustang vest with the Mess top instead to be cooler; perhaps consider this one if you live in a warm climate. Overall, I've been happy with my purchase. I have two other PFD's, that I have for my Kayak; they don't have pockets and are not as good as this one.Positives: 1) Quality construction, 2) Number of Pockets, 3) Reflective material, and 4) comfortable to Wear in cooler temperatures. Drawbacks: Uncomfortable to wear during summer months.

My favorite for coastal use
I have 4 of these and use them for near shore and offshore fishing trips. They are comfortable, lightweight with useful storage pockets; they fit a range of chest sizes (the 'large' size kept on a boat can be adjusted to fit almost any guest) and they are great for coastal use. The reflective tape is a plus as are lanyard hooks for safety whistle, signal mirror, or mini strobe light attachment which can be added(not included). The pockets drain well thru a small grommet, the zipper is rust proof. Open arms and lack of bulky neck flotation allow these jackets to be comfortably worn all day (a plus when fishing) and provide some wind protection for the chest. Although they will not support an 'unconscious' person with the head/face out of water (like a Mae West style) these are much more user friendly for sustained use.

This will fit fine in the larger sizes
As advertised a quality life vest. I know life vests can be hard to find if you are in the big and tall catogory. This will fit fine in the larger sizes. Don't be put off by the orange color. No it's not a cool camouflage design. However, if you really ever need it believe me you'll be glad it's orange. I used to be in the Coast Guard and did rescue work - I know what I'm talking about.

Life Vest for Tow Boaters!
Grandson that works on Tow boats asked for this life vest. He states that is is comfortable and light. He likes the pockets! Wish that it could be ordered with name put on in reflective tape.

A nice piece of gear.
Seems like a well built PFD. Haven't tried it in the water yet, but it shows promise.

Happy with purchase
I searched locally for a good quality PFD but could only find 'Walmart' versions. I am very happy with the fit of the vest, not at all bulky so easy to wear and still remain active. All the pockets are a bonus. Highly recommend vest and seller.

Unfortunately found out after the fact that it is not sanctioned for use in Canada. It cost me over $50 to return!
