Perry's Chemical Engineers' Handbook, 9th Edition

As an Chemical Engineer, I may be biased. This book had been in my buying list for years. That was why when I saw the book sold with discount price, just ordered it.I received the book in good condition. The paper and printed quality are fine. The printed font size is small but still readable.On the contents, this is a good reference book as overview of all subjects in Chemical Engineering. A must have for Chemical Engineering students and professionals.

I had bought the fourth edition quite some time ago and while looking on the internet, I could see the new sections that the book had and the improvement in the implementation of the sections and some examples to develop the formulas. I thought it was really important to get it, although I am still reviewing it in some detail.

Its difficult to do justice to a book such as this! First, "Handbook", no, it's more like an old-fashioned phone book for a major city, only the print is smaller and there are more pages! It starts with the most complete section of symbols and conversion factors I've seen, then 362 pages of physical and chemical data of every kind. There are 75 pages just on mathematics from elementary algebra and geometry through calculus, differential equations, statistics and process simulation. There are several sections of subjects such as thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, fluid and particle dynamics, reaction kinetics, process control and economics. There are 13 LARGE(!) sections on reactors and processing equipment, to the point of including material of interest to mechanical engineers, millwrights, industrial mechanics and welders! There are even sections on every aspect of plant economics, waste management, pollution control, "green" operations, even plant security and how to prevent terrorist attacks! All of this is accompanied by charts, schematics and tables of every description.When I first saw the price, I admit I balked. Now I wonder how they can sell this much information in this format so cheaply! 5 stars seems inadequate.

I'm very fortunate to be able to own a copy of this handbook. I'm very impressed and happy with my purchase and this will very much continue to come in handy and I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is a chemistry or chemical engineering major or is already in one of these two fields ,or for anyone who is interested to and wants to learn more about chemistry and chemical engineering! I know it's not at all cheap but this is a handbook and most math, science and engineering handbooks are not going to be cheap along with math, science and engineering textbooks. Compared to most other websites, things like this, you can expect to spend anywhere from say $500-$1000 and this is just before taxes and shipping and handling fees. This is a beyond of a heck of a good and much better price and especially for a handbook and be able to get it at such an outstanding price and that saves me a lot of money and for a brand new copy especially! Compre este libro para mi hermano que esta estudiando ingeniería química y por lo que tengo entendido es de mucha utilidad en su carrera, esta muy contento con el es justo como lo esperaba, lo que mas me sorprendió fue el envió a través de amazon global, a un precio razonable, liberación de aduanas en mi pais y entregado en tan solo 2 días en la puerta de mi casa en Guatemala sin la necesidad de utilizar un currier externo a amazon. Muy buena experiencia de compra y muy buen libro

I’m a chemical engineering student and I bought this because our normal textbooks frequently reference it. I know I’ll use it when I move into the professional world since it has all the relevant chem e information for doing calculations.
