Excellent germination with the right conditions
I added potting soil to a hydroponic netcup that was nested inside a red Hefty drink cup and sprinkled a tiny amount of seeds using a salt shaker into each cup. The soil was kept moist with a spray bottle mister and the cups were placed on a sunny window ceil. Seeds germinated quickly and tiny fragile seedlings appeared. The seedlings are very fragile and I stopped misting and started watering from the bottom by lifting out the netcup. I gently transplanted seedlings to their own netcup using a wooden skewer. Eventually they will go in the garden. These are delicate flowers to grow from seed. I only used a tiny portion of the seeds and I have a large number of seedlings. I could not direct seed into outside pots or transplant successfully outdoors because the outside summer temperatures now are in the 90s and seeds fail to germinate or tiny seedlings died quickly. I will let the plants grow indoors and transplant later. I also fertilized with my hydroponic lettuce solution. The plants love the sunny window location.6/30/20 picture updateSeedings and transplants growing well in sunny window

So easy and quality Shirley Poppy seeds
I am so happy! I planted the seeds in a seed starter tray on Sunday and on Tuesdays the seeds germinated and were coming up! I have never been able to grow poppies from seeds, ever! I'm always too late to plant the seeds outside, even when I do, plant them in the Fall they don't come up. I am so sure now that they will grow, I planted them right in the ground today in one of my sunny flower garden beds. And there are so many seeds (50,000) for just $5! That's a bargain, especially whey they grow. I will be putting these seeds in any bare spot and pot I find. I will update my review as the plants to grow.

Meh
Most of these did not grow but the few that did were beautiful. I got a single lavender bloom and a handful of red.

Poppy Seeds - Immediately Germinating
Item : Shirley Poppies Self Seeding : Pink, White, Red and Pastel BlendsPurchase Date : 12/10/2017Review Date : 01/23/2018Purchased in 2017 to start indoors until the weather warms a little. I am in zone 9 and have a full sun patio until 4-5 pm. I've put a tablespoon of seeds in to germinate by using the plastic bag/paper towel method. Because these are sun plants I've opted to leave the seeds in the sunlight. They immediately started germinating. After one day I was able to see all the little seed coats begin to open and the root started showing the day after. I'm waiting to transplant until the roots are a little bit bigger. Poppy seeds are rather tiny, and this variety is smaller than the last couple I've bought. I've got good success rate so far as all of them are germinating. I was rather nervous buying seeds online because so many reviewers leave a negative response. I decided to risk it as my local shops do not carry specific colors that I might want. This is the only seed I purchased from Marde Ross & Company this year but I am happy with the current results and the seedlings all look healthy. I will update for color, bloom, growth etc.One week in plastic bag - seedlings looking good!

Dorthy, make room for me, I just planted 100,000 Poppy’s!
5 stars because I am thinking positive. I am not sure how to review seeds before they bloom. I never saw 10,000 seeds before - looking like tinny little black pepper things in a shirt pocket size plastic bag. With that in mind I put them in a salt shaker and adorned my back yard with Poppies. Probable within a week or so they are sprouting like weeds in a garden. My green thumb neighbor was impressed too so I must have planted them right. That’s all I can say for now. I’m excited because I’m new to gardening. I shall send pictures when they are blooming. What sold me is the color and they are self seeding. Stay tuned.
