I was hesitant to purchase a "value" pack. When it comes to electrical, safety and value don't always go hand in hand. In this case, I was really pleased with these outlets. I feel much safer with them in my home. I have a three year old and a newborn. My three year old is very curious and loves to "help" daddy with projects by putting all kinds of things in places they shouldn't go. I purchased one pack to test them out. After a couple of months, I decided to purchase enough to replace very outlet in my home.If you are newer to electrical, please be sure to confirm that your outlets are set up with a 15 amp breaker. In some parts of your home, you will notice something different. I have 20 amp circuits in some part of my home. In these spots, I will need to get something rated for 20 amps.

I bought these outlets to update the ones in my 30 year old house. Installation was simply, and replacing old outlets and switches is a great inexpensive way to spruce up a room. Several of the old sockets in my home were to the point where they were not even able to hold a plug in the socket anymore, and these new sockets instantly cured.My only complaint is the child safety mechanism on these modern switches. Plugging something in can kind of be a pain as you have to wiggle plug just right to get it past the child safety mechanism. This is really only an issue when using something like a vacuum cleaner that you plug and unplug frequently.

They are nice looking and easy to install. But if you are going to place these in an area that you need to consistently use it then dont get it. It is very hard to plug things into it due to the tamper resistance. But it functions as advertised.

moderately experienced D.I.Y.er here. Replaced my old outlets in my 30y.o. house with these. Fit perfect and was a smooth installation after I got used to the procedure. I recommend watching a YouTube video or two before starting. Make sure you TEST FOR POWER >> EVERY OUTLET << In the same room as the one I just replaced, I found the next outlet was still live. it was associated with two breakers for some odd reason.
