The frustration free packaging is a brown box with the product unattached to the packaging, where as the retail packaging is in the Fisher-Price packaging found at retail.

I would think Babies 6 month plus would enjoy this toy.

Q: What kind of plastic is used?

The entire toy is covered with a thin felt material. There is a crinkly layer on top that is of a crinkly material which is tactically playful. I’m not sure what type of plastic you may be questioning. Basically, the toy appears to be visually and hands-on playful. I hope this brief description was helpful.
