Nice smooth colored pencils
Nice smooth colored pencils, blend nicely and I enjoy using these along with Faber-Castell polychromos and prismacolor to color in adult coloring pages.

A little too soft for my needs, but a well made color pencil for professional use. Saturated pigment translates well to the paper surface. Thankfully you can sharpen these without fear of constant breakage.

Great for compact travel. Not for artists.
Hello Friends and pencil addicts:I recently found this set of pencils at a substantial markdown at a local discount store, and since I have vowed to try, if not buy ALL of the pencils, I gladly plonked down my pocket money and brought them home. So, here's my verdict - they're okay. I can't get excited about these pencils. If you love Prismacolor, you will like these. They're nearly as soft as Prismas, but less likely to break while sharpening. They do leave quite a bit of dust behind and the cores have a tendency to chip if you sharpen them to a fine point. However, taking Amazon prices into account, they are significantly more expensive than Prismacolor Premiers, with a far more limited color palette available. These are not Dutch pencils, even though "Holland" is printed on the barrel. At best, they can be classified as mid to high student grade. I would not classify these as artist grade.Specs:3.7mm core; 7mm capped cedar barrel; made in China. The packaging on my set is very nice. Each pencil is slotted into a separate foam slot in chipboard drawers that slide into a chipboard box. The drawers can be difficult to open at first, but if you work them back and forth, they slide easier with some use. These layer nicely and blend easily, although the end results can be a bit unpredictable. They are moderately erasable. There are NO COLOR NAMES ON THE BARRELS, only numbers, but there is a color chart included for reference, even though the chart colors don't really resemble the true colors. The colors on the barrels are fairly accurate most of the time. The cores use up quickly - I used about an inch and a half of the dark green pencil on the example page alone, but these are available open stock for replacements. The white is a very useful pencil for blending and softening; the black is nice and black. In my estimation, the pigment levels in these pencils are pretty high. There are no scratchy, undissolved bits in the cores. There are no colorfast ratingsMy favorite thing about this set is the color selection. This set of 24 has every color you need for portraits and landscapes. This is an excellent set for someone who has a limited budget, would like a nice travel size set or is looking for a gift.At the end of the day, they're fun to experiment with, but I won't be using these for serious art projects. They just don't perform to the standards of other pencils, Prismacolor included, and I'm glad I got them at a discount. If I had payed any more than $20 USD, I would have been disappointed.

Would definitely recommend for all kinds of artists
Bruynzeel pencils are highly pigmented, bold and smooth colors. I use them on birch panels as well as paper and they preform wonderfully on both. They also come in compact in a reusable box set with drawers that slide in and out. If you get multiple Bruynzeel sets then you can stack them up.I've never had problems sharpening them, or the lead breaking inside the pencil. Which means you waste less pencil in the sharpener and have more to use for art!Perfect for professional artists, but also a great beginning set for students or artists just starting out.All around a high quality pencil and great company.

I am glad I bought it
I had to break the box to get the drawers out, but the color is rich and laydown is very smooth. I am glad I bought it.

Soft and smooth!
These pencils are a joy to use, richly pigmented with a soft and smooth lay down. I love sketching with them as they glide across the paper, and they layer and blend beautifully. The packaging and quality is so so nice, you won’t regret buying these!

Quality
Great quality pencils with a strong pigment in them. They blend well and complement the same brand pastel pencils. work well on cartridge paper and watercolour card.
