This book is more than fiction. The story is great, but it is also a (easy) philosophical reading. You will ask yourself deep questions while enjoying the journey... of a life?

英語の学習のために読みました。英検準1級レベルで、語彙はそこまで難しくなく、わりとすらすら読めました。 （以下ネタバレ） ミドルエイジクライシスではないですが、「もし、あのときに、こっちの人生を選んでいたら」と思うことがあります。 でも、仮にそっちを選んでいても、同じがそれ以上に悩むことがある。当然思い（理想）通りにはならない。 結局、今の人生は必然的にそうなった、またはその時のベストの判断で選んだものだから、今の人生を大切に生きていこうと思わせてくれます。 同じパターンの繰り返しでまどろっこしく思うときもあった分−1しましたが、概ね満足です。 ノラは水泳もバンドも勉強（哲学）ともともと才能ありすぎで、選択肢にあふれた人生で、よく考えるとぜいたくな悩みですね。一般人の「もしも」と少しかけ離れてる気もします。

While its title didn’t sound intriguing to me, the very high rating of the book at Amazon was so impressive that I decided to go with. A woman, sick and tired of her mediocre life, became desperate for death. Then she somehow landed on the place called “Midnight Library”, where she, still in between being alive and dead, was given chances to explore her alternative lives. She came to a final conclusion as to the last thing she wanted to do. The beauty of this story, from my perspective, is that the many plots are all well-led to the last key chapters. My initial reaction was, “aren’t these too many to remember, particularly for Audiobookers like me?” After listening, these all made sense; they were imperative to render the story rich and her final decision convincing. No question about the high rating. Must read, with five stars!

Good book for the price range but it is clearly a cheaper reprint of the amazing book. But I would still buy it again because the plot is seriously that good.

最高。読んで良かったので、この作者の別の本も買っています。 自分の人生に満足できない時、過去を反省している時、過去に引きづられている時などに読むといいかも。

自殺を試みた女性が深夜の図書館で目を覚ます。その図書館は人生における分岐点に戻って別の人生をやり直せる場所だった。 過去に戻ってやり直す系の話はよくあるのだけど、過去を修正した人生における現在に行く、という設定は新しいと思った。売れているだけあって話の構想や得られる教訓は秀逸だと感じた。

Though there are a lot of printing problems in the book including stains, marks, creases, and misspellings which I believe this book is supposed to be new, the story itself is quite beautiful and worth to read.
