If you want quality products that do what you need them to do and keep on doing it then ac infinity is the brand to go with. Their products just feel like quality and they perform just as good as they feel. I’m so glad they have focused so much on their line of indoor gardening equipment because it gives growers a high quality option. Anyway, these mats are perfect! I grow thousands of out her plant seedlings and I prefer to use a heat mat while germinating them. The past few mats have fallen short because they use a thermostat that must be inserted into the soil to read the temp. While this may not seem like a big deal, I’ve had the sensor come out before and narrowly avoided frying my seedlings! These mats however use a dial that you can tune to perfectly set your desired temperature (I use a laser thermometer for soil temps) not only is that helpful but it makes it much simpler to achieve your desired results. Another thing I really like about these mats is they are not bulky at all. The technology they use is infrared and not heat coils. Which means it’s EVEN HEAT and with no hot spots like coil mats have. I feel like that’s a much safer option as heat coils, while rare, can short out. They do take slightly longer to reach peak heat but does a few extra minutes really matter when germinating seeds? Not really. If you are looking for a high quality heat mat that will outperform any others you’re going to find, just do yourself a favor and go with these. They won’t disappoint!!

I'm NOT getting paid for this review and not getting compensated in any form or fashion. I love AC Infinity company, their customer service is second to none and they have top quality growing supplies. I was excited when I found out that a digital version of the heating mat is coming out which I thought would be more convenient and I wouldn't have to use a thermometer/hygrometer to put inside the dome to monitor temperature and humidity to have proper germination and/or cloning rooting success rates but when I received it I was quickly disappointed because first of all for those in colder climates will have issues getting temperature to 80° or above 80° because for some reason even when I set the temperature to get to 110° it takes quite a while to climb to 102° but when I check the temperature with a couple of separate thermometers It shows that the temperature is around 74 to 76° and in order to get it to climb up I would have to put something under the heating mat like a piece of plywood or styrofoam and I add one of the Amazon bubble envelopes too avoid losing any of the heat radiating down to the floor and that definitely helps but if someone needs higher temperatures like 84° for instance I don't think they will be able to achieve that with this heating mat. For the most part the temperature that's needed for my plants for germination is 78 to 80° which is the sweet spot and to get there I have to set the temperature to 102° and it fluctuates between 100 and 102°, which actually keeps the temperature at 78 to 80° F with a piece of plywood under the heating mat and a couple Amazon bubble envelopes stacked on top of each other. The one that I would recommend is the same one but with the dial/knob which works flawlessly and I would need to have the temperature either in the middle or between the first quarter and the middle. Just make sure you use a thermometer/hygrometer inside the dome to dial in temperature and humidity. Here's the hygrometer / thermometer set of four that I highly recommend and they have two options either without a probe or with the probe. The ones with the probe you can only measure the temperature with the probe but to measure temperature and humidity you would need to unplug the probe and put the device itself inside the dome but if you never need to check only temperature then get the ones without the probe because it's a little cheaper and you won't have that probe port open that can get dirty and something can get stuck in there. These are a lot more reliable than those really cheap ones, the black rectangular ones. The AC Infinity SUNCORE H5, Seedling Mat 20” x 20.75” with Digital Thermostat Controller is a dream. I like the size, perfect for my tabletop tent. The material is strong, waterproof, and mildly pliable. The cord is 6' long and the temp control is separate from the main cord (which I love). I bought this mat for the size yet I love it for the digital controller because I need to know exactly what temp my mat is at for scientific purposes. I saw other reviewers complain that it doesn't get hot enough. That is not how these mats work. They are designed to get the roots warm, not the whole space of the plant or tray or tent...for that you'd need a space heater. My little guys are absolutely thriving with this mat. Highly recommend.

I like the thermometer, it's easy to read.

Living in Michigan, growing indoor during the cold winter months can be a challenge, especially if you use LED lights and are growing in an area that's not well-heated (i.e. an unfinished basement). I bought these to help increase the temperature of the root zone for mature plants in five-gallon fabric Smart Pots, as well as raise the temperature in the tent overall, since an oil heater in the room outside the tent wasn't quite cutting it. Having purchased an AC Infinity fan, I figured I'd give these a go, as the quality seemed to be good, the price was competitive (not the absolute cheapest, but not the most expensive) and the product descriptions were the most detailed. These mats hold a consistent temperature of right around 90-95 degrees Fahrenheit, but there does seem to be a slight bit of variation between the two mats I purchased (not enough to matter, for my purposes). I found that I needed to use two thin plastic saucers (the cheapest kind available) instead of one saucer, as that extra couple of millimeters of space between the mats and the pots keeps the soil from getting too hot. So, make sure to measure the temperatures of your root zone and adjust spacing between the mats and the pots accordingly, depending on the plants you're growing and the type of pots and saucers you use. I also put two-inch foam insulation board underneath the grow tent, and this also seems to be helping keep temperatures warmer and steadier. Measuring the soil temperature with a probe, I get a reading in the mid-70's, which is about a 15 degree increase from the temperatures I was getting without these mats—exactly as advertised. If your soil is getting too cold for ideal growth, I'd definitely recommend these—especially combined with some foam board insulation to decouple them from the floor. The only thing I wish these mats had are temperature controls (ideally with WiFi control) so you can dial up and down the temperature, as needed. Yes, controllers can be purchased separately, but still... it'd be nice. But for the price, they're great, and do exactly as advertised.
