Q: are they worth purchasing and gifting ? I don’t want to gift if it’s that bad

JINHAOs are fine pens. Cheap and a great value considering how wee they write. Whether something of this now a pricing level is an appropriate gift is your choice.

Forget the fact it's from China. It is most likely the best value in a fountain pen you will find ANYWHERE. Of course it's made of plastic. So is my 1947 vintage Parker 51. This is every bit as good as pen for about three bucks versus the neighborhood of a hundred. I currently have nine JINHAO pens. While the 329 is a great pen and a good replica of the Parker 51, my personal favorite is my JINHAO 159. This one is a nice fat beefy pen that's easier for beat up older hands to hold . It appears to be metal, possibly brass inside covered with plastic housing. Feels quite hefty and sturdy. Get over your predisposed prejudice, do yourself a real favor and grab hold of one of the JINHAOs.

Q: Where can I get replacement nib?

Hero does not offer spare nibs for these pens yet.
