Rock solid tripod at a without the high price tag
I was very skeptical about this thing but took a chance. I was very impressed. Under 3 1/2 lbs with the ball head. The tripod is VERY solid! The ball head is absolutely rock steady with a rifle attached at the end of the forend.

Good overall
This is a really well made tripod with small tolerances overall. it is extremely easy to use with single flip locks that fall into place in the most extended position of the legs. From there you can simply fold the legs inwards and the lock will fall into place. The carbon fibre is between 1 and 1.5 mm thick which is typical for Cf tripods. For its size it is lightweight and the center columnless design makes it compact. It is very sturdy without the legs extended but there is noticeable flex especially from side to side. So taking long exposure photos with telephoto lenses may result in motion blur in photos. However this is for the extreme scenarios. The head is very smooth and sturdy but it is difficult to screw it on the base and moving around and adjusting loosens it over time. If you are not frequently changing tripod heads you can really tighten it and will probably stay in place no problem. The height of the tripod is very good, someone 175 cm (5'8") can easily take photos without hunching down. Overall I recommend this tripod except for use with telephoto lenses for long exposure photos.

Great tripod, my 3rd.
This is my 3rd tripod from Sirui. Build quality is excellent. This model is tall enough ro come up ro eye level and im 6'1". It's very light and twist locks secures legs tight and super easy to loosen/ tighten. I have 3 ball heads from them as well and they're great too.

The round legged composite tripod
Very lite, sturdy well made Just one complaint, one of the 3 section legs will not tighten up allowing the leg to close up…….

Worth ever penny
I was ready to move up in stability. I needed a zero center column tripod. After testing this, I absolutely love it. Strong like steel but lite as bamboo. I think you would need to spend 3 times the amount to sense any improvement. Thought about upgrading the head but, as of yet I don’t think I will. Very solid and well built.

Tripod is really sturdy. This is my first (well technically, second) carbon fibre tripod and am really impressed. But... I bought a carbon fibre Three Legged Thing Winston tripod but it had fault on a couple of the leg locks and had to go back. I needed a tripod quickly so ordered this for next day delivery. All good, except the blurb said the ball head had a magnetic Allen key. I thought I'd take that off as I didn't want magnets near to my cameras or lenses. When the tripod came it turns out the Allen key isn't magnetic, but is held in place with magnets. This is where it gets daft. I didn't want magnets near to my cameras and lenses - against all logic and laws of physics - in case they were affected by the magnetic field. The quick release base plate is held on the the ball by an Allen screw. You can buy different quick release base plates, so I thought I'd remove this one with magnets and replace it with one without. The problem is the the screw into the ball holding the base plate is made of something akin to cream cheese and the Allen key just turned an hexagonal hole into a faintly round one without too much effort. So I then decided to try to remove the magnets. I assumed they were glued in so thought I'd heat the magnets with a soldering iron, melt the glue and they would drop out. This didn't work. Drill them out I thought. Nope, the are as hard as glass. Drill the material around them away and prise them out. This just created a mess. I bought a new ball head - call it the stupidity tax - and have hidden the old one away so I can try to forget my folly. When the embarrassment has subsided I will buy a stud removing kit to try to extract the cream cheese screw and be in the position of having a spare ball head. Just to clarify the tripod is great and I'm sure the ball head is fine - I just don't trust magnets and their invisible force fields. The feet don't seem to have the same thread as all the spare generic tripod feet available online, so don't know how good Sirui aftersales and spares supply is. They don't have many spares on their website. Might be a consideration.
