Worked great for Dewalt power tools except my Dewalt Weed eater. . The M18 8.0 Milwaukee battery with this adapter hits the unit and wont fit . Would probably work i am sure, if it fit

These do have a buck/step down converter. That’s even better because an M12 is 11.7v charged and 9v dead. This puts out 12v all the time then nothing so you get every bit of time and that’s 5x the electricity as a m12 We did the math at the school I teach at. M12 are $0.62/Wh the extended are $0.60 M18 cost $0.65/Wh, a dewalt is only $0.45 but a Bauer is $0.18/Wh and fits with a couple quick cuts with an oscillating tool or angle grinder. Presto. Milwaukee M18, dewalt, Bauer and Hercules (kinda,it slides out). Super easy , works just as good , better battery life , and you save so much money. Not to mention durability of a Bauer 5Ah with Samsung cells running a 12v tool or a weak Ryobi makes the battery last so much longer for half the price!

This is for the MIL18DL (Milwaukee Batteries to DeWalt Tool adapter). The adapter itself isn't bad, it works and will fit your DeWalt tools. I can't speak for the Ryobi version of this adapter as the pics show 2 parallel 18AWG wires for a total ampacity of 32A @ 90A or 36A @ 105C (don't know what the wire insulation is rated for in that adapter). HOWEVER! I took it apart because I've never purchased from this seller before and found that the wiring is only 1x18AWG and 90C rated. This puts the max amperage for this adapter at 16A, maybe 18A if you get a version with 105C rated wiring insulation. This is opposed to other adapters which are running 14 or 12AWG, which is 25A or 30A @ 90C and 33A or 45A @ 105C. The 18AWG in this adapter isn't even affixed to the blades very well, some strands weren't soldered/welded on which is going to reduce its ability to carry current and create more heat. I tried replacing the wire with 10AWG 200C rated wire for a max rating of 75A, but the prongs would not play nicely and ended up carrying the heat to the plastic, deforming it, vs. affixing the wire. In short, use this only if you don't plan to use demanding tools with it because the tool is going to either run subpar OR this adapter is gonna get hot. P.S. For some reason it says, "Supports fast charging" on the side but just like every other adapter, it states "Do not charge using adapter." Not sure what genius put that one in, but guys, never charge using an adapter regardless of what it says.

If you're looking for a battery adapter to use Milwaukee M18 batteries with a Dewalt 20V tool, this will work. However, one thing to note is that this adapter reverses the battery orientation. In some cases that may cause ergonomic or tool usability issues. As an example, I was using this on a cordless non-name brand brushless tool which runs the 4.5" surface conditioning drums. The Milwaukee battery hung down lower than if using a Dewalt battery on the tool when using this adapter. I looked again on Amazon and found one alternate adapter which preserves the proper battery orientation (ASIN: B0FJD4B9DS). That one isn't built quality as well as this adapter, but it keeps the battery in the right spot and is working fine. Does this one work? Yes, but I think there are better alternatives out there which doesn't impact certain cordless tools from being used effectively with a Milwaukee battery. I didn't notice this when purchasing, so this is why I decided to write the review to educate others. In the first photo you'll see this adapter on the tool with a Milwaukee M18 Forge battery to make my point. The second photo is the alterative adapter, and you can see how it affects the clearance of certain tools. On a drill, this probably wouldn't be a big deal, but on a grinder, it may be something worth paying attention to.
