Easy install but burned out in 5 months with very minimal used. Really disappointed

(Upfront honesty - this is a Chinese knockoff) but seems to be a fully functioning and capable knock off).Installed it tonight and it's the same brightness and color as the original lamp that came with my "JVC DLA-X500rbu projector" . Honestly only time will tell if it holds up to the hours it claims it can survive. I kept my projector in eco mode unless watching high animation movies (think Avengers or Pixar films) and I've had it since 2013. Made to just shy of 2020! I'm betting this lamp won't last as long because it's obviously not a genuine JVC lamp but, JVC wants $499.99 for a oem replacement lamp... and for $53 and some change this bulb is a good deal - AGAIN if it lasts even let's say 1/8th as long as the original it will be well worth it.Also with prime it arrived a day earlier then expected! Yay

This was a perfectly good replacement lamp for my JVC projector. Somebody commented it wasn't as bright as they expected, but I wonder if they had their projector on power saving mode, because mine was super bright, just as bright and good as the original. No complaints at all. They even included a lens cleaning cloth, although mine didn't need it. (And if this is your first time replacing your bulb, you'll want this product with the full plastic housing, not just the bulb, because JVC projectors are designed to pop out the full old housing with bulb and plastic around it, then pop in the new. It only takes about 30 seconds).

The fitment is OK, and it turns on.It is not as bright as the original. In fact, my OEM lamp at 2900 hours is brighter. Color reproduction seems to be OK, but I will not bother in calibrating since I’ll be returning it.Annoying high pitch noise. First time I try a non JVC branded lamp, and it will be the last. Biting the bullet on a $450+ for an OEM lamp.

I noticed that the brightness of this bulb is about 90% of the other. I adjusted the settings in the menu which helped some. You will notice that the blacks are blended more. Ex. you could see the person wearing a black stocking hat but couldn't see the ribs in the hat. Or when watching a ocean doc the shadows and holes in the coral seem more washed. My son commented that video games look a little different. That being said, its an excellent value and worth the purchase.

I received it in a couple of days and it took just 2 minutes to install on my DLA-X700R projector. A few more minutes to setup the focus and zoom and were good to go. The picture quality is sharp in ECO mode.I hope this comes close to the 3000+ hours we got on our original.

Fits my 4K e-shift3 D-ILA Projector - DLA-X500R. Only 2 hours old, but great bright picture so far.. I’m hoping for at least 2200 hours which is what I got from last generic.
